Then she had her accident with the tanker on the way to the start in Sydney. I thought her parents were irresponsible and feared it would end in tragedy. I have followed her trip every step of the way http://www.jessicawatson.com.au/ and will be there on Saturday to wave her home, eat my words and applaud her remarkable feat.
    Never judge a book........

I to was very concerned for her and thought her parents were insane letting her do it. BUT have also been following her trip. WELL DONE you GO GIRL!!!! She is one tough little cookie.

  4. Mmmmm. We have just started our planning of 2011. Travel Agents seem to be very reluctant to offer JAL flights. Several are offering flights with stop overs with other airlines which will add 4 days onto the flight travel. Panic set in so we started doing our own research and for us Flights out of Brisbane to Toyko 0762 seem to have been dropped. It is now a flight down to Sydney and then onto Toyko! We can go Jetstar of course to Osaka then get a connecting to Sapporo BUT Qantas code share with JAL out of Brisbane has also been dropped?? confused

  5. We wont be able to make it to the dawn services tomorrow (first time in years) due to Mr Snowhunters back injury.

I watch my dad every Anzac take out his medals and proudly pin them on his shirt. Out come the war stories which is about the only time he talks about the war. Tomorrow we will sit and watch the ANZAC parades on the TV and be very thankful for our lifestyle today.

LEST WE FORGET - Also time to think of our soliders still serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

  7. I was wondering if anyone can give some advice and help on hiring a car in Hokkaido. Getting Around?? How hard to drive in the snow (have done in Canada but not the same amount as Japan get)?? Logistics of it??

We are thinking of starting in Sapporo. We have heard of places in Niseko in the bottom village that include a car with your accomodation??

We would like to be a little freer and drive around see more of Japan and visit some different Ski Fields.

    Thanks smile

Hiring a car does give you some independence but now there are regular daily shuttles to Moiwa from Niseko and shuttles twice a week to Rusutsu.

At the moment it looks like 2 weeks based in that town with poor shuttles visiting all surounding resorts and then drive to Niseko and spend a 1 week there hitting the other resorts. Or we might find some hills on the way and stop and play there. smile
