And, not just the Japanese resorts, Take a look at some od=f the Australian ones to see "creative snow depth" and extremely imaginative reporting of conditions.

As NS said, it is all intended to get more people there, rather than somewhere else. Does it work?? Dunno, but I guess the PR people can convince the bean counters that it does ... wakaranai.gif
  2. OK, 10000+ posts! Oh, you must be some kind of guru. Or maybe just a forum tart.

I am new here, as the number of posts will attest. I have met GoNative but cannot say that I've met any of the others either here or on the other fora I inhabit. Friends? Dunno, maybe if we met up we may be.

I can say for sure that I would have difficulty agreeing with you given the tone of most of the posts in this thread.

You tell me to "get over it", well, I can tell you for sure that I'm over the argument about which resort is "best". It all depends on what you want and I do not necessarily want to drop down chutes at 45degrees. At just a touch under 60, I have a healthy respect for the intactness of all of my bones.

Now, serious point ... you have business affiliations in Hakuba! And, before you ask, No, I do not have business affiliations anywhere in Japan.

Typical (OK 5 posts here, but many more elsewhere and I've seen your style before on other boards) response.

Noone expects you to ski where you don't want BUT let us ski where WE want without your vitriolic, sarcastic put-downs.

I said before, I'm over the "mines bigger than yours" stuff. Please take your attitude elsewhere.

I bet i can find more people that refer to Niseko as flat than you can find them saying it isnt.

FFS ... I am well and truly over the "mines bigger than yours" stuff! For many of us "average punters" the fact is that a day on snow (ANY day on ANY snow) is better than ANY day at the office! (Except, maybe for people like GN whose office is very much like a day on snow. grin.gif )

Puleeese, give us a break! Discuss stuff like flat versus vertical if you must, but don't tell us that we HAVE TO agree with you or we don't know what we are talking about. That's just plain arrogant and I cannot stand arogance, in ANYONE, not even the living god of back country skiing.

From what I've read here and in other fora (plural of forum) where he resides, FT was never a beginner, or even a fair to good intermediate, he was born a super chute rider, and has just got better and better. I don't envy him, pity is more appropriate.

Hey, man. Where are the Furano snow cams?? I've been lookin' and lookin'. Google doesn't show any at all. The nearest I can get is at the Land Cafe/ Biei. While this is OK, I'd really love to have a look at the hill(s) at Furano

    Cheers
