  1. Dont listen to any of this rubbish, your kids are possesed by the devil. Stop them whatever it takes. ( smile ).

seriously made me laugh out loud!

We tell our boarders when they make noises about skiing that it's OK we will still love them when they come out of the closet. ;)

(Says she who is looking at skis and ski boots and wondering if they will actually get used this trip...)

  2. A U shaped lock that is not flexible would be difficult to use.

I think you are thinking of the kind of storage racks you see at the base of some resorts (I know they have them at Thredbo and you rent them for the day/week where they lock over the front and your padlock them.

Nothing like that here. Just the kind of rack that your rest your board on. With the locks tubby described you loop through a binding and either attach to another board/ski (kinda hard to steal attached kit without sending up warning signals) or around the central bar.

  3. I suspect apart from the Ns and Hs, you're going to hear much the same.

Makes you wonder why that might be.

lots of high end gear, and lots of opportunity.

(Ignoring that Japanese culture suggests respect and therefore no theft, and it is more likely to be foreigners...)

Think about it...big N and big H have big big whacks of international tourists.

High end newish equipment and likely to take lots of long holiday mode breaks inside restaurants and bars.

    Opportunity.

A local hill. Few locals maybe riding their favourite board from 5 seasons ago. Stops for a pee and an energy bar, but otherwise the board never leaves his feet. No opportunity.

  4. Ha! Mr Wiggles, I think that is becoming a universal suffering. I can not tell you how many times I have almost been collected at roundabouts by those who errantly believe they have right of way, or have sat shaking my head at those who errantly believe they should give way....

To the point I have actually turned to my student driver son and said "ok help me out here...I am not losing it am I...it is still give way to right in 2013 isn't it?..."

  5. So' date=' every morning I have to merge onto Route 1 which is always bumper to bumper and hardly moving. The merge lane is long so each car is merging into traffic one by one in turn... What is it with the driver on the main route who is bound and determined NOT to let you in despite the fact that traffic is literally going 4kms/h. This morning some cheeky little douche in a k car decides to play chicken with me and not let me in. Nope....he isn't backing off and I almost hit him and my bumper is right at his window....balls.. [/quote']

I live one block back from a highway that goes bumper to bumper parking lot style every peak hour.

The only way out of the side street is if someone lets you in, and the only way to turn right into my street is if the silly f*ckers leave a gap (both lanes of them). You would not believe how many jokers do not want to give up that car length or two!

  6. Depends on what it is, why they were lying about not doing it and what kind of relationship you want to have with them in the future.

Last night at a function I called my best friend to check if she was still coming as she was late.

Her partner answered and was surprised to hear from me, although she covered with "yes, yes, on my way, it has been a hell of a day", I knew her voice - she had forgotten!

We all ignored it and lavished the love. She ended up fessing up.

But we like her. And want to stay friends. And no one was hurt except her pride.

On the other hand if someone costs you (and it has happened to us recently in a sporting comp) by not doing their job and then tries to wriggle out of it.

I say go for the jugular - make sure it never happens again!

  7. ergh... I cant quote for some reason...

ozsnowbum, I wouldn't rule out the Gentems for others based on your own preferences. My husband rides an Impossible and loves it - fell in love at first demo and rides it as his preferred board in most situations.

I however do not like it - way too much of a board for me...it rides me rather than me riding it - I much prefer a hybrid camber board like my Eminence where I am the driver. ;)

  8. oh totally agree.

I don't surf, never bought a wetsuit, so had no idea of approx. cost.

I should because both my brothers practically live at the beach...but its the smell of chlorine at 6am that suits me ;)

But at $400+ his mother can buy him one!

If it were me (or one of my cubs) in the sharkies environment I'd have one on order already!

It's a funny looking suit, but if it gives you that little edge...it'd be worth it.
