Any Mexican or other Hispanic food. I've been to a handful of "Mexican" restaurants in Japan, and although they may have got the appearance of the food somewhat correct, the flavor is all wrong. Don't even get me started on "taco rice" (anyone from Ryukyu out there?)!

I have some liquid anti-fog drops... smells alcohol based. It's sold for desert combat goggles, but I'm pretty sure it is the same stuff they sell for swimming goggles or diving masks. Seems to work better than not having anything on the inside of the lens. The active ingredient is probably the same as a stick product, just suspended in a volatile carrier.

I'm pretty sure the cheapest is the bus, and you're looking at around 2.5 to 3 hours IIRC.
SUICA/KITACA definitely will work between Otaru and Sapporo, but not really sure if they have the IC Card reading wickets out as far as Kutchan - haven't really been paying attention, but I'm sure someone else on here has...

If your face tends to sweat a lot, you'll probably have some fogging issue even if you use double-lens goggles. This is especially an issue if you run a helmet and face mask/bandana. The helmet tends to overhang and block the top vents of the goggle, reducing airflow, and the face mask will trap the warm, moist air from your breathing and let it rise directly up into the lower vents of the goggles.
If I'm cranking heat at the bottom of the hill after a hard run down, I'll lift the goggles up onto my helmet, even though the wisdom is "keep the goggles on your face". If I don't, they'll fog up in the lift line and ice up when they get cold at the top of the lift.
Pulling the face mask away from your chin and lifting it (as opposed to pulling it down around your neck) can reduce breath fogging when you're doing up the bindings, catching your breath after hiking the pipe, etc. Shaun White does that with his everpresent bandito bandana. -
Lightweight UnderArmour baselayer (long sleeved top/thigh-length shorts)
Motocross or hockey jersey (long or 3/4 sleeve)
100-weight Polartec fleece vest and pants
Gore-Tex 3L outerwear
If it's below -15C or so, I might run a long-sleeved fleece or a heavyweight baselayer.

Cold. -9C or so in town. A little overnight snowfall, supposed to be more tonight.
Yesterday was cold too. Don't think it will be quite as bad over the weekend.

Cloudy. It's a little above zero or a little below zero - depending on where you are - so it's either a drizzle or a light flurry falling in the metropolitan area. Looks like snow up in the hills though!

Double lens definitely the way to go. Try on a bunch of different brands, since the face fit will vary from model to model.

That it is, but my point was that their media outlet complains that the South and/or USA is/are bringing things to a breaking point every/any time there is a military exercise.

Teine opened on the 20th this year also, but they've been on the "weekends and holidays" bus schedule for early and late season since I can remember. They may be open during the week, but that's a fairly hefty cab fare away.
If you don't have a private vehicle, the only place you can really get to in the early season on a weekday is Onze via their free shuttle from Miyanosawa, but Onze doesn't open every day - it's really "weather permitting" with them before the snow fills out in mid December.
I guess if price wasn't an issue, on a weekday, one could catch a local bus to Jouzankei then taxi it up to Sapporo Kokusai.
