Cheers Dave for the reply, I had a hick up at the airport and was overweight 11kg with my board and kit, they wanted 350NZ$ so I told her to stick it and had to leave them in storage at the airport. Such is the times with airlines and weight restrictions. Bummer but theres always the next NZ season to look 4wd to,

I have a months work in Osaka and am keen on getting some riding on the weekends, arriving 20th Jan bailing 24th Feb at present.

Would love to do some riding with some other members, will pay share of all costs if someone has a vehicle. Keen on seeking some quality places to huck.

Thanks everyone again for your replys and information, and thanks those links were useful. It seems after reading a few posts on other sites and lots of researching that there are the only two short courses options for a non (fluent) Japanese speaker to gain any sort of basic training in Shiatsu.

The full one year Japan Shiatsu College course http://www.shiatsu.ac.jp/english/school.html

would be great if it was offered to international students without Level 2 proficiency in Japanese speaking reading and writing and with a view not to practising in Japan, ie. not requiring a Japan Practitioners Licence on completion but only a Dip or some form of proper certification.

also offers a small course in English (for Y5000 an hour one day a week?).

The two courses offered for English speakers with both places look great for someone hoping to help people/family/friends privately but not on a professional basis. With only a total of 25 hours odd of training they can't be anything but casual hands on courses with no theory. Alas, I guess its just not lucrative for a school in Japan to offer long term serious Shiatsu training to non Japanese speakers.

Thanks Wiggles, yeh I meant Shiatsu but didnt spell check, cheers for that link, Im doin some research for my girl, pity its not a bit more intensive but that look ok for an intro course,

Does anyone out there know of any longterm Shiatsu courses (6 months or more full or part time) offered in Japan that are taught in English and giving certification on completion?

I have exhausted all internet searching with no joy, any leads/information greatly appreciated.
