[Help please!!!]

Are you sure you can't bring a snowboard on the bus? Seems like a silly arrangement for a bus service to one of the prime ski locations in japan!

 

I'll be making my way from Tokyo Narita to Hakuba on the 15th, around noonish, after getting in on a flight from HK. After much research, the bus seems to work best for me.

 

Seems like I have to get this board issue sorted. Anyone have anymore info??

Then again, stuff made in China isn't always a bad idea. As a "gateway" to China, HK always gets stuff shipped through it. There's always the "occasional box of whiskey that slipped the net while being loaded" sort of goods available.....haha

Got a bit more than I wished for, so much snow here that I couldn't even make it out of the parking lot! Let alone hit the slopes!!

 

Sitting here looking at the powder here in Shika, at sea level, and not being able to head up to the mountains is absolute torture.

 

Luckily I'm also headed to Hokkaido next weekend, so there'd better be some new snow by then!!

Oh I was refering to the mont-bell shops in HK btw!!

 

Yeh I know mont-bell shops in Japan have good stuff, but the mont-bells in HK suck for ski-wear (well, we don't get no snow, what do you expect!!!)

What up Gord? I'm also from Hong Kong. Is this your first time skiing?

 

Mont Bell is no good for ski-wear. They make decent (if way over-priced) hiking-gear. The only place with decent siki-wear in HK is the "Down City" place in Tsim Sha Tsui. But even they have a limited selection. My advice would be to come over here and buy stuff here. Way way more selection, and th sales are on.

I'm thinking about not getting snow tires for the coming winter as I will only be in Japan for one year. I live in ishikawa where we don't get much whits stuff. But I do want to head to the mountains on weekends. Is that advisable??
