You never really think things will happen to you or your family...
Last weekend my friends girlfriend (25 years old) was hit by a speeding car while she was crossing a road - terribly injured with head and chest injuries, and monday she died.
She was a great girl and just did not deserve this... it really hurts.
Let's looking after each other in your family and friends and cherish every day.

Interesting one this. Some people seem really formal, some overly cold, some overly sincere.
I usually start with a Hi and end with a Cheers if it's most mail.

I was back to my hometown over summer and spent a lot of time with family and friends of family. Friends of family, funny bunch of people!
One uncle is just so arrogant it's unreal. He is one of those people who seem to find it impossible to say sorry - even when they are obviously wrong. He would rather squirm out of it someway where he feels he is saving face or whatever pride thing is going on (but in reality looking a fool) rather than admit to a mistake and say gomen. I just don't get it. What's so hard about saying sorry?
Perhaps me being in Japan I am quite good at saying sorry ( whether I mean it or not!

I have trouble sleeping the first few days after coming back. After that though I'm just so tired that I soon get back to normal. -
Just on the news now showing hundreds of people lining up queueing for the new "Mac Cafe" that McDonalds have opened in Tokyo.
People are mad.

It sounds like money is the most important thing to you SirJib. (Sorry if I'm wrong, just going on what I remember of your posts and talk just before on chat).
Lots of people I know enjoy their lifestyle out in the countryside here in Japan on relatively small wages. They might not get a huge wage, but they often have Quality Of Life - they live in a nice large place in the middle of the quiet countryside, have good friends, enjoy their work, stress free lifestyle, enjoy their beautiful surroundings and wouldn't swap it for 10 times the money plonked in the middle of Tokyo.
It sounds like a beaut to me that.

I don't have much spare cash. A trip to the snow costs money. The snow is generally pretty crap right now. I'd rather save some money to use on something that I'll enjoy than a day on ice.
I suppose my attitude might be 'wrong', for some reason.
