  1. Free rider is someone who cruises the whole mountain, big fast turns on the groomers, loves the powder when it is there, cruises in the trees, does jumps off natural "hits" as they ride.

A freerider would hit the park if they were criusing through it but wouldnt hang out their all day, same with the pipe, would hit the pipe on their way through, but wouldnt unstrap to go back up.

freeriders basically go from the top to the bottom of the mountain enjoying whatever is there on the way down....powder is preferable

  2. BBC world is the least biased. I think most of the news is just that - world news. The problems in Israel, Floods in Europe, West Africa, famine in Africa, Indonesia, Iraq, Nth Korea etc etc etc there isnt that much on the UK itself unless its huge news.

for example when there were live feeds to the shuttle inquiry updates CNN stayed with it for ages but BBC got the juice then cut to another new story rather than continue with every little detail from the shuttle etc

BBC World just seems to be more balanced and varied they dont seem to have any hidden agendas they will report both sides of the story.

British Journalism is like that historically, they report what they like and often to the embarrasment of many poeple and to their own injury with libel cases etc.

For internal US News the of course CNN is what you want, but for WOrld News then BBC is better

haha thumbup2.gif nice one dude I have similar memories of Colorado and "flatlanders" wearing Nebraska Huskers or Kansas City chief stadium jackets, Jeans and rear entry ski boots and those dorky novelty court jester hats. I once saw a Patroller blasting this one group who were intent on a doing a technical black diamond course, what the hell those fools thought they were doing where they were is anybodies guess.
We called them "gapers" I had another friend in California who called them SPORES - stupid people on rental equipment

    THANKS!
two years ago I arrived at Christchurch airport with a set of Skis and snowboard and all the associated boots, A huge team sports bag with 37 kg in it and a carry on pack with 30 kg of heavy stuff (books and 5kg of peanut butter)
A friendly jovial Indian New Zealand dude was at the counter and he was a genuine nice guy, he was like, its sweet my man, but you gotta distribute the weight around to get under 32kg in the big bag . so I jammed stuff in the snowboard bag and cool as you like I was done. A total of 85 kg and not one cent paid in excess, mostly in part to having a top dude at checkin counter not one of 'them' that you mentioned Mogski

I was home in NZ in September and checked out the Viaduct basin, it was awesome to be there even before the racing began. I went for a joyride on an old Am cup yacht, it was one of Nippons challenge '95 boats.

Thanks Ocean but I recently discovered the damn poll system AUTOMATICALLY selects the option of viewing only after voting which is retarded, it sould be the other way around. You have click the tiny little box saying "advanced options" to disable this feature. So all my polls since are that way. Dont blame blame the stupid system darn.gif
  7. I am with with badmigraine on this one Snobo, there is always next season, dont be a fool, I hurt both my knees on a six day trip in France, I should have packed it in earlier than day 6 but being all the way in France I was pigheaded and stuck it out. Came back to Japan and had MRI's done on both knees 40000yen and luckily there was only inflammation, but I packed the season in and rested up no running, only swimming and mountain biking over summer and rehab leg strenghtening at the gym while I was doing heavy upper body weights,I was so tempted to hit some big squats but withstrained. My knees will never be 100% but I treat them with lots of respect now, I wear a neoprene brace all the time to support the left knee while I am riding,

Knees ended and or plagued the careers of many skiers and sportsmen. You only got one set and once they are gone thats it no more,

Say sayonara to this season mate and remember

Denial is not a River in Egypt.

  8. Bears phuuh...now what about Sharks! now there is an animal that commands respect. Sharks are the undisputed King of predators. I have a lot of time for sharks, db mate being a surfer I imagine they give you the heebies but I am a scuba diver and I am not scared of them as much, its pretty cool to dive with them, maybe not a Great white mind you.
