  1. i agree with sweetaz- a guy wearing a good tie is really sexy, but if its the wrong one, it can be a turnoff.

like i mentioned in the jeans thread, all the guys at my high school had to wear them. there was a group of guys who preferred bow ties, and since they were pretty hot, i like a nice bow tie too.

for me, i like to wear ties a belts occasionally.

  2. anyone see the recent friends episode where monica and chandler are talking to another couple about the adoption process? chandler goes to the bathroom and runs into their son and is like, "oh we're talking to your parents about how they adopted you." and he's like, "whaaaat?" pretty funny episode. anyways, some of my cousins were adopted and they always knew. seems like thats the better way to go bc keeping it a secret it just soooo huge and you have the deception and the news to deal with when you find out.

  3. i just had a long im chat with friends about the metrosexual. its ubiquitous in america. i first read about it on salon in the spring and now its popped up in time magazine in an article about webshopping for xmas. my gay friend feels its the mainstream hijacking gay culture. another thinks its just new term for closeted. i think its purely an american phenomenon, despite david beckham being its posterboy. heard ahhnolds one too, but i dont think so- hes too misogynist. my definition is a guy who has gay qualities- lots female friends, dresses smart, cooks good, is neat- but def likes the ladies. what are yalls thoughts on the metrosexual revolution?

  4. there are some brands i'm totally loyal to, like apple, swatch, birkenstock. love all the products i have from them. for other brands, like clothing labels, it just makes shopping easier. for instance, i know i can find western sizes in good styles at zara, so i'll shop there when i'm in tokyo. but for a lot of things, it doesnt matter which brand (if any) i have. but people do trust brands that are familiar to them, thats why advertising works.

dude- aloha! its hard to try to pick out outfits that look cute and yet distinguish you from the other kids wearing their "uniforms" from the gap, j crew, or abercrombie. teenagers are often trying to find and assert who they are. Erik Erikson referred to this as the "identity versus role confusion" stage of psychological development. personally, i like shopping at thrift stores to find unique threads.

hmmm this reminds me of a great barbie postcard i have that says "i stayed awake all night wondering about what to wear." lol.gif
  6. i think it might be awkward for the gf to talk about her present sex life with an ex and to have him examine her. but from the current boyfriends perspective, theres nothing to worry about bc its not like shes going to get all turned on by the exam.

and dude you should get your wife to the gyno to have a checkup. not to get all gross and stuff, but women need pap smears once a year, or every three at the least.

  7. my private school in the us didn't have uniforms, but we had a dress code. no jeans, shorts, or t shirts/sweatshirts. guys had to have dress shirts tucked in, wear ties, hair above the collar, and no facial hair. and the girls had a limit on skirt length or could wear pants. but you could always get around stuff like wearing colored jeans when that was the fashion in the early 90s or cords. or if you were a good student (like me ;\) ) you could break the dress code and wear short skirts. unnatural hair colors and piercings were always a big controversy. during hockey season, we would wear our kilts on game days (a coupla times a week) and it was fun wearing a uniform and not thinking about what to wear.
