hey, drew and i are in sydney we were going to go with snow wave but they dont offer student airfares so we got STA to organise our trip they ahve been pretty good... we only have 48 days till we LEAVE!! YAYAYAYAYYAYAYAYAY!!

hey all...
i had a chat to my bro yesterday he owns a snowboard shop, i asked bout personalising ur board... spraypainting and fili coat etc...
he said the only way it was possiable to do a good job is if you were to bluk make couple of 100 and do it in the process... other wise the odds of it being scratched off are high and then would be a lot of work for a crap looking cheap job!
so unless you know an manufacturor...? then its best to seach around for one thats already made!

meh, the tv is always on in my room! right next to my puter is my tv so im watching even when im online! i reckon i watch too much!
plus i work in a video store so the televisons are on at work too!!!

Here in Australia, if you dont have chains in ur car and u get checked, we get fined.... is that the same?? its a couple of hundred dollars as far as i know...
so during the snow season if your not a 4WD you must carry chains....
i'd spend the extra on "snow tyres?" i dont know what they are because if you have a 4WD your fine to go up the mountain ova here... so if ya got a 4WD you miss out on paying $40 rental for one weekend...
chains are fiddley too who wants to put chains on ur car when its frezzing cold!

Nulla - a small fortune!!!
The final price is about $3500, maybe a bit more actually. This is all inclusive. Flights, accomodation (the whole time), transfers etc etc. Everything.. well except food (obviously).
Originally we tried to go through SnoWave but once we said that we wanted to go to Tokyo as well, it got very confusing for them and nasically said that it wasn't possible because the flights were all booked up.
So, we went to STA Travel (who we booked our Thailand trip with at the end of last year) and we got student priced flights, plus they got us the flights we wanted.
How much did you guys end up paying? You went through SnoWave didn't you Nulla???

what do they look like in japan?
the lift passes in aust are, well u get given a metal hook like a U shaped thing and a sticker that you fold in half over the metal. (u hook the metal thru a zip) so u get a rectangle paper thing attached to ur zip....
is it the same in japan?
ou season passes are laminated card thing with ur face on it!

ah the toyko thing we wanted to travel a bit over there we infact wanted to go to HK on the way and go to hirosima and travel a bit more, but we could only get flights to Osaka (i dont know if im spelling that right...it looks wrong) so Sydney Osaka to snow to toyko to sydney... we didnt get the chance to go anywere else... so the flights to the snow are only on Sundays right....
so sunday to sunday 11th to 26th we needed to be back by the 31st jan so we couldnt stay the extra week in the snow! so we had to leave that sunday...
man i donno if that make sence but hey!
its a fair rant! heahheae....

i'll have to check if we have time there i know we get a flight to the snow, so i gather theres an airport thats were we land... then we get a bus... so i gather the airport or were we get picked up there might the train station!
man i wish we had the itinery!
we will be getting in a week or 2!
our flights are all confirmed we just have to pay!

ah yes, i did just by a dv cam...
im tossing up with the lappy thing... i didnt take my lappy to Thailand when we went there but the theft rate is like 99% sure! so it was a bit different + there was internet cafes everywhere i mean everywhere....
the lappy reason thing is we posted a topic agers ago bout access to internet and internet cafes, and lots and lots of people told us that the computers are in japanese and that you wouldnt be able to connect and external device up to the computers in the cafes! i donno i was just an idea thats been blown outta proportion!
but yes i will get memory over there cause its lots cheaper i did get prices... but, we dont go to toyko first we go to the snow first, so this is were i need ppls help, will we be able to get memory cards at the snow? is there eletronic shops and things up in niseko? mmm... i didnt think that there would be so there we pose another problem becayse we are going on a hoilday we want to save our money for the trip rather than spend it on memory over here which is like $89 for a 16mb card! silly!
I mean i dont wanna take my lappy but for convienciance it was a thought!
Im not to fussed either way.... i mean traveling with a snowboard will be fun enuff so heck a lappy in ya back packs not going to take much more effort!
were away for 3 weeks, 2 in the snow and then a week in tokyo for a week!
im sure drew and will sort it out and yes we we'll have a ball!

hey Markie, it dosent bother me having a cam around my neck, the "cord" hangs low enuff that it just sits on my powder cuff, so its just below my ribs...! (depending on the camear i take out) but it seemed to be fine! i couldnt feel it most the time even had a stress cause i couldnt feel it thought it had fallen off! but it was just comfy and hidden! heheahehae!

oh the learning subject.... how did everyone learn to board? or ski....? i got a couple of leasons they thought me the basics but its such a hard thing to doo... they say do this.... you watch the instructor... and then u try BLAH! i had no hope! i was a shocker.. and im a pretty coordinated person to!
As for the whole Goofy natural thing from the last page... i have been pushed from behind a few times and each time i have landed on a different foot, i have also done the run with socks on floor boards and see what foot you have out front when u slide but i have no trouble doing it either way....
i slide a softball with my right foot out in front and my left foot tucked behind so thats y i decided to go goofy...!! and cause my bro is goofy too so i thought it might be in the blood... we are both right handed too...!
