Thanks for clarifying Bushpig. I was actually feeling a bit sick this lunchtime thinking about this incident. If someone could do a rape on a train God knows what else would be going on in this country.
Still hard to imagine no-one noticed, but I guess it was a really crowded noisy train.

Utd are hardly the model of consistency at the moment. Tommorows game will be really interesting.
The pressure on the chelsea and man utd players must be so huge now, they both have at least the treble in their hands to win or throw away.

Nakamura won player of the year and goal of the season in Scotland the other day.
That means a another few seasons at least of no premiership game on Sky cos Celtic are playing some souped up pub team. Its really getting to the point where I look into getting the footy thru the internet now instead of Sky.

I dont like how they put all the 'meat sauce' in there, makes it kinda sloppy.
Used to like Freshness burgers but they a bit messy too.

Isn't that a kind of British spirit? It just doesn't have the word 'spirit' in there but meaning is similar, although perhaps slightly more negative.
Not that I'm defending the UK, it sucks and thats why I left.

I'm sure the US governments argument would be it is not practical to remove all the guns now. And if they did, it would just be the crims that kept the guns making the innocent more likely to be victims.
I would like to hear what their actual argument is for their gun laws.

The idea of allowing ordinary people to have guns is so ridiculous I won't even give it the respect of taking it apart.
The question is how long and how many incidents of this kind, will it take for the US to wake up and do something about their gun laws.

I think they did something like say that Hillsborough was the Liverpool fans fault, and the paper was widely boycotted in the area as a result. Apparantly even now many people wont buy it there. There was a TV documentary about it last year, the new editor of the Sun went up there to try to change public opinion but people wouldn't accept it.Quote:I believe it ain't too popular in Liverpool.

I would imagine it is nice. I like to use a mizture of pork and beef when I use mincemeat (bolognase etc) as the pork is nice and fatty and gives flavour.
Have been wanting to try Mos recently as I like the idea of the smaller burgers. Getting sick of ones that dont fit in the mouth without falling apart.

It could just be lies because they have an agenda against Chelsea. I think this is commonplace with The Sun.
I remember years ago, Gillian Tailforth (?) from Eastenders had some story wrote about her in the sun. She sued them for it but lost, so the next day the Sun went ape-sxxt and devoted about 10 pages to attacking her. It was truly disgusting the stuff they wrote about her, it was like watching a rape or something. From what I gather, this is how the Sun gets it stories and stays ahead, it just scares people into giving them the story by saying 'if you dont co-operate, we write loads of lies about you anyway and you dont get paid'.
Anyway, slightly off-topic but my point is that everyone knows that the Sun writes crap, but also bear in mind that often they have an agenda behind it too.

1-3 I agree with.
A lot of the others (taking bath, shoes in the house etc) sound like they were stated by some inbred farmer.
The interesting one for me is 14 because I thought many Japanese were not even aware that their language was so indirect.
1 and 19 are the same, unless I am a classic example or a gaijin who doesnt understand them

Is there a cure you can get in hospital?
I heard about something like getting your 'apenoids' taken out?
And someone told me about some laser treatment you can get that lasts about 3 years.
Sometimes it is so bad I would gladly pay the money for something like that.

I think as you get older you get less tolerant of sharing personal space.
At uni, I remember it was the smart ones who hated sharing a house and the morons who loved it.

I guess Sony hold onto the futile hope that people will buy the blueray players and then spend 6000yen a pop on the discs, nintendo are too family/kiddy for that, and Microsoft...well I cant see them doing it but it would be nice.

I think they will find that actually its hard to find someone at all, and tenants tend to be picky, so they may well drop this idea unless it is some kind of paradise home going really cheap.

India and Egypt is similar, western girls (especially blonds) are openly gawped at, shouted at, or groped in public. I only met one blond girl travelling alone the whole 6 months I was in India - many of them start their travels alone but join a group/get a boyfriend to reduce the abuse.
I'd say in Japan the feeling towards these women is similar, but people are more reserved so the feeling is not displayed.
Regarding sexual harassment, my company is quite big on it in so far as they make a big deal of it when signing contracts and I was even told verbally that day: 'don't do sexual harassment'. They didn't tell any gossip about if it had gone on in the past though. With the heirachy system here, and the way managers are treated like Gods, I cringe to think what would have went on here (Japan) up until the 90s and people started sue-ing.

The problem with 3 English teams in the semis is that (for me) it makes defeat much harder to take.
But wow, Man Utd vs Liverpool, that is something that would talked about so much for decades. Don't think there has ever been an all english final before, and those 2 teams are as big as it could get from UK teams. The likes of Chelsea are just this decades Nottingham Forest.

My friend (male) got gropped on a train in Osaka one time.
My wife was temping a few years back at a crappy little nut sales company (yes, they sold nuts that fit in bolts, but not the bolts), and she said the boss there was outrageous with the woman on enkais and they all put up with it. I told her if he tried it with her to tell me so I could 'write him a letter' but she ended up leaving shortly after.
However these things can happen anywhere, so I wouldn't say this country is especially bad for sexual abuse etc.

Well probably she was probably faced with the following choice:
1) Stay quiet and take the rape
2) Have your face slashed and scarred forever, maybe even get killed.
I imagine in that situation most people would take option 1.
