  1. Ah well, the boys did good. I felt we were at least equal to Milan and quite unlucky, ref was a bit dodgy at times (not sure if their freekick should have been given, and he didnt play the full injury time). Ultimately it came down to a bit of luck I think, but thats football.

The players and manager have taken it well, if you read the news today they are showing other teams (we all know who) how to take defeat with a bit of class.

  2. I cant remember exactly but I think the extra features are this:

    * 'Jump' function - highlight any word in the example/definition text and jump to a definition of that word

    * 'History' function - see what words you looked up recently (serves as a revision tool)

    Does your Casio have that?

  3. I want to replace my basic wordtank (IDF-2100) with one that has more example sentences, bigger screen and a bigger ei-wa dictionary. As I reach upper 2-kyu I find my compact one lacking at times.

Has anyone here bought a wordtank lately?

  4. Trevor brooking made a good point about Lampard sayign Ballack has hampered his game this season. I was thinking that if you think of gerrard/lampard in the england team the same thing has happened. But ballack is out of the final this satu so will be interesting to see if lampard shines. If he gets a goal or two you can all buy brooking a beer for being a smartarse.

  5. We use the Co-op home delivery. Its not as bad as you heard.

They deliver every thursday. You give them your order for the next week when they deliver your stuff. So you only have to wait exactly 7 days for it. When we didnt have a car, we just used to buy bulky heavy things we didn't want to carry from the supermarket - ie. milk, juice, canned tomatoes, beer, rice etc. Not so much thinking involved. All the little special stuff we would get from the supermarket ourselves.

To answer your question more directly, no I havent heard of an online supermarket. Supermarkets here are 30 years behind UK ones.

  6. How about hosting the photos on an outside website, ie. flikr etc, and then allow us to embed those photos here?

For example, just add a line of markup like img1.jpg to put in img1. This is how some blogs allow you to embed videos.

Then all that multiple uploads, post-processing etc can be handled elsewhere.

You could even make a web service to make an interface so that we can drag/drop files in from flikr without having to cut/paste the URLs etc. Ok that would be as complex as upgrading your photo hosting service, but the markup idea would be simple...

  7. I think companies make salesmen do that so if they quit the company they dont steal the client too. If they quit, the young guy comes and takes over. I heard this exact thing being talked about at work recently, where we actually get our salesmen to do this.

Seems like salesmen are pretty disloyal, even Japanese ones, from what I hear.
