in japan it is....thankfully that means its just stupidly cheap got mine for 26000 with 20gb hdd. Its more like 60000 in the UK. PS3 is a similar price here in japan.

yep for that reason I did not buy a wii and bought an xbox360 on saturday just need to find some time to play it...

When I bought my HDTV I shopped around and Yamada Denki was cheapest. It was same price as online (kakaku), plus I could get it on the spot. My manager came with me as I had no car then, and we tried to bargain. He basically shouted at the attendant for 15mins but the guy obviously could not budge. He said its fixed price on this item, cant go cheaper. So we drove to another yamada denki and got the same price and same story after another 30 mins of haggling.
The shop assistants said on some products you can bargain, but other products are already at lowest possible price and nothing can be done to get price down. He said a few years ago they could call head office and sometimes get a discount but not anymore.
Anyway, I was satisfied that I got that TV for the cheapest possible price so that was fine by me.

Thats cool, nice idea to steal the mascot.
I hope they find a sponsor and NOVA rises out the ashes with a totally different board and new philosophy to be a great school. But it'll never happen, can you imagine anyone giving them 70man in advance again?

Stupid cup. If you win it people just take the pxxs anyway so why bother. Man Utd had the right idea playing the reserve team. Liverpool played Gerrard last night

Looks like torres and alonso will be out for a while now, also mascherano picked up an injury It will be grim with Sissoko in the team every week.
-
Some would say that means you have a lower quality of life, however I lived in Nagano for 3 years and can say that living somewhere surrounded by that kind of nature (and skiing) beats the pants off being somewhere urban. And I grew up in inner london.
-
but as descartes said, 'i think therefore i am'. have u ever imagined there being nothing, ever - nothing ever will be, nothing ever was. pretty grim!

"How it all came about" - theres another big one...
What if there was just never anything, ever?
-
Is there less demand for eikaiwa now? Or is it just that NOVA were evil?
-
cant...imagine the bosoms...need...photos...

Not sure what Benitez was doing playing 2 injured players.
Crouch looked good (as usual) when he came on.

The best is when you win 7-0 and the whole game is like a highlights package
...doesnt happen much with Liverpool though (jealous)

Most of our bodily functions we do not control. We just have the illusion of controlling our body, but really it controlling us. Things like flies, peacocks etc, I cant imagine they are aware of much beyond basic pleasure/pain sensations.
So to think about purpose etc is pointless, because our self-perception etc is just the off-shoot of some laws of physics. The real You is all those atoms etc flying around, being driven by your urge to reproduce. In that way I agree with the 'blind man' thing mentioned in the original post.
In other words, we consider ourselves important when in fact we are as meaningless as a leaf on a tree. So to think of purpose etc is a waste of time. This is why religion is there, to give us some kind of security that we are important/have purpose/will not really die etc.

I looked on japantimes before posting and they had nothing about it, just some article from this morning saying they looking for the president and that someone had been demoted.
Its now on BBC news online:
"Its 2,000 Japanese staff have not been paid since July and some 4,000 non-Japanese instructors have not been paid their salary for October, union officials said."
Interesting they think (know?) they can get away with not paying the locals but the gaijin wouldnt put up with it. Wonder if it is illegal to discriminate in such a way...however by not paying staff I guess they have already crossed that line.

Yeh, we should just get that great service for free right?
In the UK everyone watches BBC and gets their moneys worth IMO. I don't have a problem with it THERE but in Japan it's more dubious.
-
The BBC basically have a system where they start legal proceedings quite early as a routine measure if you dont have a licence. Not sure how they do it, I think they know when you move into a new place somehow.
-
I cant find any news article stating that - anyone got a link?
-
...sorry, didnt know putting japanese in the subject would cause it to go to htmlentities.

At work I'm seeing these titles after peoples names in emails. I know what some of them are, but keep finding new mysterious ones.
Can anyone shed any light on this?
M = Manager
S = Senior
C = Chief (!)
CR = ???
TS = ???
EG = ???
Also, I'm always the only one who is just さん

The supermarket people don't complain about it (drinking the water then paying for it). It's not great manners, but I don't think its a big deal either (in a big supermarket).
-
I can imagine him at Spurs. So much for his American Dream. Wheres that rumor from?
-
hehe.
I sometimes would drink a bottle of water in the supermarket but only in a big one and I would always pay for it.
My friend would have his dinner in there on the freshly backed pies/sausage rolls etc then just throw the empty wrappers in the trolley and leave it to pot luck if the person on the till notices it and charges or not. Often they wouldnt as the trolleys tend to have rubbish in them most of the time anyway.

Its got the sumo on as well. And World Cup games.

I thought celebs got everything for free?
Example: Toyota dishing out the Prius to Leo DiCaprio, politicians etc a few years back.
Especially clothes, I thought that was all given free to major celebs. I can imagine they would be fighting over themselves, even PAYING them to wear their clothes. Depends on the brand of course.
I agree with samurai about p-diddy. Hiphop culture is so repulsive, I dont know how they can get away with, hehe, 'vulgarity for vulgarities sake'. The irony is most of them come from poor backgrounds so they definitely should know better.
