i play PSO rarely, but muzzle flash for an hour or so most evenings under the name of
THE_HORROR!!
PSO sucks, and you have to pay 500yen for it ot so per month. but, when True Fantasy Live Online comes out, that game is gonna sweep all before it. Check it out:

yes you can play with people online overseas.
you dont need a router to play it. you just unplug the modem cable from your PC and put it into the xbox.
the games tend to be in english rather than japanese.
its good.

Yeah i do the CLAIR course. I actually think its really good, though i know thats not the cool thing to say.
I also have one private lesson every week in my house for 90 mins. Thats amazing, my teacher is great and I learn a shedload in that time (well worth the 2500yen).
Also, i go to a workshop with 3 other jets and a japanese volunteer and do stuff there for 90 mins a week. That was great when we were going for 3kyu together, but now we just sit about and chat and dont learn anything (or 'teach' each other stuff that is incorrect and get into bad habits).
All this is enough to push me along at a medium pace, but I wish I was moving faster. I should stop playing video games and sitting in front of my computer perhaps.
Chatting to japanese people using MSN or Yahoo Messenger can be great, so long as you are both actually writing in kanji/kana, and you force yourself to practise those newly-learnt grammar points.

right now i dont know. virtua striker is quite good.
the all time favourite has to be kick off 2 on the amiga. sensible soccer is a close 2nd.

yeah i was chuffed he dropped heskey. heskey was shocking in the world cup - awful.
i hated rooney when he played against liverpool last time, hes a really cocky one. but he played well it seems and its all good when they are playing for england. its really exciting to think of him and owen up front for england for the next 10 years. one wonders about the height issue though.

my realistic prediction: 3-2
I think it'll be a cracker. But they will be out for revenge after we stuffed them in the worthington cup. Also, Man Utd are hungry to slap Wengers face in this title endgame, so I think they have too much incentive to win this one. Plus its in front of their home crowd.

what time is kick off in japan time? its a 8pm kick off in england. so maybe 4am here? 5am?

I sometimes sneak out early afternoon or not turn up at all, it all seems to be ok.
But i quite like just hanging out here, and my desk is more comfortable for computing than my one at home, so if i got a lot of computer stuff to do then i will often stay at school till 6.30pm or whatever.

yeah me too. i have no urge to go home, i have been there before ;-) plenty of time for that xxxxhole when i finish my contract.
I have been abroad on holiday maybe 3 or 4 times in my 20 months I have been in Japan.

just got two games for xbox. phatasy star and muzzle flash. i like online games, but dont get much time to play games.

I just got back from LA and I couldnt believe how big the portions were over there!
I ordered a medium coffee and recieved like a litre of coffee.
Loads of crappy junk food restaurants.

let me explain PSO a little.
Basically it sucks. you just go get a gang, and go into the big warp to the forest. then you fight your way through the levels, going back to the city now and then to sell your loot and get more potions etc. eventually you go through mines, caves and shit. then it gets really hard. you should try to fight with guys who are like 10 levels above you or so, so they can protect you and take you further into the game so you can get more experience points.
you dont really need to talk to anyone, just fight. the game is really monotonous, just fighting and getting your character stronger. there seems to be no story or side activities, just the fighting. its kinda mind-numbing, i gave up on it when i got to level 26 or so (maybe 16 hours of play or so).
