OK, I might get flamed for this (though maybe not) but what IS the big deal with sakura here?

 

We have much prettier (and MORE) sakura in my hometown (and a few trees in my parents house), but we don't go on and on and on and on and on and on about it (and we don't think that they only exist in our garden either) and I've not seen anything here that is nearly as pretty. And we don't have picnics under them on blue plastic sheets either

 

So can someone explain what the big deal is? It just gets a bit tiring every year....

I have just been told that I have to pay "koushinryou" to renew my apartment rental contract.

 

I have to pay 1 months rent (70000 yen) for absolutely SOD ALL. All I get from it is a new piece of paper that says I am renting the apartment from this month for another 2 years.

Just reading the obestity thread and thought this might make a good topic - what do you reckon, Japanese getting bigger or not? They certainly seem to be, some real porkies in schools now, but generally getting a bigger figure don't you think?

You might want to wait until next season - get prepared, learn more about the scene from these forums, etc - but there is still plenty of snow and even decent conditions out there if you want to go out.
