  1. Ms. Davo is on 6 months now and we have a confirmed second girl on the way. Hope your sick feelings dissapear soon me jane. Fattwins, you must be getting pretty excited now mate, not long to go aye.

While I would have liked a boy in many ways, though another girl is just as good, plus a lad may have felt a bit uncomfortable in those pink hand-me-downs he would've been wearing lol.gif

The first one is as hyperactive and aggressive as you'd expect a boy to be anyway. All the other kids at the park seem so well-behaved and quiet in comparison to our little monster.

  2. yeah it's sweet alright, though I am still in the market for a new pair of shoes as sports depot drew a blank on my size after keeping me waiting for 10 days mad.gif Japan is hell for peeps who have bigger feet.

Will try to get down to Sportaka on the weekend-they are one of the few places that cater to the freak feet crew...

  3. Smelly people smell bad no matter where they're from. Japanese prolly smell less than some other groups due to diet, but junk food munching unwashed slob here would smell bad like one in other countries. Fact is that the Japanese as a generalised group smell less than people from Western countries in my experience.

What the guy said was probably true in his experience and perception. Agreed, he shouldn't be saying it on tv to perpetate racial stereotypes and crappy nationalistic horn tooting. Was that his intention or was he just being unknowingly insensitive.

The ignorance and racism thing is never really that black and white and I think what is taken for racism here is naivity a lot of the time, or "sheltered twatism" for want of a better term. Plenty of racism in other countries. He shouldn't be saying that on TV but he's probably just a fool rather than a racist. Just because Wetern countries have become more PC doesn't mean that racism has disappered.

Anyway Japan does need to sharpen up it's act and become a little more PC and worldly. This "we are so unique" angle is an odd combination of smugness and insecurity imo. It's not unique to Japan though, plenty of people on that gig in NZ and other countries too.

  4. I ran that trail we've been looking at on Sunday CB. Didn't set out to do it but had it done 2 hours later. A bit stoopid considering I took no water, but I can blame Sports Depot for that. What is it about big sports shops? I go to buy a water bottle belt and, of course, they don't have one-pathetic really.

SG on one level you're right, but I can run stuff that a MTB would have to be carried up/down, plus I know you don't dig on the running and I love it. I'd like a MTB too but running is a better/more convenient workout for me.

  5. It may not apply to your culture and you're welcome to your personal opinion. As to elaborating, tattoos have great significance in a lot of cultures. In Polynesian cultures such as the Maori in New Zealand, Samoa , Tahiti and so on, tattooing has traditionally had great cultural significance, which remains relevant today.

Off course there are plenty of silly tattoos as you say, but that doesn't apply to all of them.

  6. Yamakashi. Reason is that it's nearly free for one, and furthermore I have a fair amount of downtime during the day so I can slip out to run, do weights, sleep in the big masssage chairs/beds, or surf the net and post on here (something I can't do in the office).

Apart from that the trail would defo be my first choice. I'll be keen for a run on Sunday afternoon if you are.
