Ugah... Karaage on top of sushi!?!?!?!?
Must be one of Nagoya Ten-musu!
-
Weather forcast for this coming March is just like usual year but it has snowed much less than usual, so might be bad, might be okay. Hard to pressume how it will be.
At this moment snow at ths ski slopes are less than 200cms as of Feb 1st 8 a.m.
As far as when I see this snow information, there has been worse record in the past if I remember correctly. And usually most deep snow are recorded at Mid Feb - mid May so maybe you can keep observing and decide.
Good luck

You got it, bushpig!!
I hope there will be no bald oyaji passnegers if I have to work for the train as a conductor to announce
Tsugi wa hage- hage-

If it's in Kochi Ken. Probably we refer the same place but what I heard in the train was not hanke. Maybe town name and station nane are different there and you know the town name while I know the station name, I guess?

I hear teriyaki chicken is on top of sushi somewhere in the world. Maybe "don't do that" notice?
-
Let's say roughly 1 hour or so for one way by car.
-
Oh my bad, SuzAka is the next city of Obuse town.
Yep, Nagano is kinda big. If I drive my car from here to southern part e.g. Iida city, it takes 2 hours or more even if I get in the Chuo express way. If it's by train, probably 4 hours.

No, not a joke.
Bingo 備後 is an old name for Hiroshima region.
Bungo 豊後 is the one for Ooita.
Confusing?
There's a lot of place names that have some old region name at the top (usually )
e.g.
Toshima-Oono 渡島大野 in Hokkaido.
Tsugaru-Imabetsu 津軽今別 in Aomori
Ugo-Honjo 羽後本庄 in Akita
Rikuchu-Takada 陸中高田 in Iwate
Rikuzen-Sanno 陸前山王 in Miyagi
***
Shinano-Moriue 信濃森上 in Hakuba
Echizen-Oono 越前大野 in Fukui
Owari-Ichinomiya 尾張一ノ宮 in Aichi
Hida-Furukawa 飛騨古川 in Gifu
Kawachi-Nagano 河内長野 in Osaka
***
Bicchu-Takahashi 備中高梁 in Okayama
Bingo-Shohara 備後庄原 in Hiroshima
Houki-Daisen 伯耆大山 in Tottori
Tosa-Yamada 土佐山田 in Kochi
***
Bungo-Mori 豊後森 in Ooita
Hizen-Yamaguchi 肥前山口 in Saga
Satsuma-Kawajiri 薩摩川尻 in Kagoshima

Spicy has some shops at some area - Goryu, Happo etc and there are some other ski rental shops as well. There's some shopes in and around Escal plaza in Goryu, Hakuba 47 basement buildings, if it's Happo, shops tend to locate here and there. You can look around to find a best fit to your wife. Might need some time for it but if you try that at your arrival day when you go out for dinner, maybe you can save the time at the following dayes.
Good luck.

Obuse 小布施 is located a bit eastern than Nagano city. Just on the way from Nagano city to Shiga-Kogen on the Nagano-dentetsu railway. Suzuka city 鈴鹿市 is located close to Yokkaichi city in Mie prefecture. So, obviously Obuse is closer to some powder.

Hiya cr500dom
Shizuoka and Nagano are actually next prefecture but accessing is not good in many cases especially if it's northern Nagano where many ski slopes are located.
Maybe you'd better go to
#1---Tokyo to catch an Asama shinkansen to Nagano then bus to Shiga kogen / Nozawa /Hakuba area
#2--- Shinkansen from Tokyo to Echigo Yuzawa to reach Gala Yuzawa, Naeba, Kandatsu etc
#3--- Nagoya to catch a Shinano limited express train for Matsumoto or Nagano to reach Norikura/Hakuba/Nozawa/Shiga-kogen area
But if you are located in Mishima, I think Tokyo is closer than Nagoya?
Quote:I'm sure there are tons of Mishimas, though. What Prefecture? If it's in Nagano, could be Shinano-Mishima
If it's in Hiroshima, maybe Bingo-Mishima

Actually a hosting server in the states charged me an annual fee even after I had given them a warning not to renew the contract 1 month prior.
I claimed them and they got it back to my account. But it happened again next year as well. Again I claimed them asking why that kind of silly thing happened again. They told me that they forgot to cancel my account. Lazy!
I phoned Visa and their advice was to change my credit card number by canceling the old one and I did it. Tiny yen needed for it.
And from a different point of view as a merchant with a marchant credit card account, sometimes your bank seem to mistake some. We have had this case once - Someone who stayed in our place e-mailed me to ask why we charged the person twice. I got lost what the person asked. The amount seemed to appear twice in the bank note of the person. I checked all the records and surely we just did charge the person once. Also I phoned my credit card company to ask them to check the record and they told me it was charged once. I replied the person we charged just once and checked it by refering our credit card company. Then the person seemed to ask what was going on at the bank. The person e-mailed us that the problem was solved with the bank - means maybe the bank mistook some?

Shame. I can not believe there's still someone who has this kind of thinking. Very old fashoned. Errr more like a feudal way of thinking.

Yakebitai? If I remember right, Yakebitai is located at Kumanoyu side, not Ichinose side?
10:10 and 12:45 bus leave Nagano station East side exit bound for Kumanoyu direction. Others do for Ichinose & Okushiga direction.
This below is a shuttle bus timetable around that area.
Shiga kogen <-> Yudanaka station.
http://www.nagadenbus.co.jp/robus/2007fuyu/shuttle.htm
It says you can get on services on the yellow background with your ski pass. But can't find "Yakebitai" bus stop there.
Hope it helps.

snosurf, maybe Tsugaike also might have some crowds on weekends, Cortina and Hakuba Norikura,
Sun-Alpine (Sanosaka, Aokiko plus Kashimayari) are probably quieter. -

9:10 at Nagano station East side exit, but if it's Sats and holidays , 8:20 is the earliest.
This below is the timetable (Japanese)

You can convert it into an acrobat file (pdf) by online pdf converter powered by Adobe if you were in the states or Canada with tiny cost.
