I guess the gnarliest I've tried is Yokokura no Kabe at Zao, or Daikura Gelaende at Aizu Kogen Daikura, which is about the same thing.
Really want to try that top course at Kijimadaira some time.

That one intrigued me for a while. Watched it twice, then read the book. Finally came to the conclusion that the author had intended a very negative statement about the nature of human beings, which the film-makers then tried to twist into some kind of optimistic message.

Abe tells us that it is so the Jieitai can defend American ships that are carrying Japanese evacuees from war zones. (The US, on the other hand, says "we don't consider it our duty to rescue Japanese nationals from war zones," according to the newspaper this morning.)
Realistically, I think this is the start of a long, slow process of Japan starting to act more like a normal country militarily, and not simply like a protectorate of the US. Which I actually think is a good idea in principle, though the implementation is obviously a fraught process...
What I hope it does not mean, though, is that Japan will get sucked into all the wars of adventure that the US seems to like to get itself into lately. Abe assures us that such is not the case. For whatever that is worth.

About 300 kWh/month for us, family of 3 -- or 4, if including the dog. (And the dog is responsible for most of the aircon bill in the summer, since nobody else is at home during the day then...)
Though we also have gas for cooking and hot water. Average monthly bill is half electricity, half gas.

As a character (not a radical), 干 has risen to new importance, and even notoriety due to the 20th-century Chinese writing reform. In simplified Chinese, 干 takes the place of a number of other characters with the phonetic value gān or gàn, e.g. of 乾 "dry" or 幹 "trunk, body", so that 干 may today take a wide variety of meanings.
The high frequency and polysemy of the character poses a serious problem for Chinese translation software. The word 幹 gàn "tree trunk; to do" (rarely also "human body"), rendered as 干 in simplified Chinese, acquired the meaning of "to ****" in Chinese slang. Notoriously, the 2002 edition of the widespread Jinshan Ciba Chinese-to-English dictionary for the Jinshan Kuaiyi translation software rendered every occurrence of 干 as "****", resulting in a large number of signs with irritating English translations throughout China, often mistranslating 乾 gān "dried" as in 干果 "dried fruit" in supermarkets as "**** the fruits" or similar.[1]
