I've decided I can afford about 2 weeks of snowboarding as part of my world travels. I will be leaving bangkok around the 15th Feb. Does anyone have any opinions on where will be better for an intermediate snowboarder at this time of year?

 

I've been unable to access the websites of the resorts (problem with this net cafe I think?), so I can't even see exact lift pass prices at the moment. Are the 2 places pretty much the same price for lift passes and budget accomadation?

I'm still in Thailand. I will be in Bangkok around the 10th Feb and then planning on going to Japan around 15th-20th. Looking at prices for flights, lift pass and accomodation again and a bit scared by it all compared to the price of my bungalow here. How

[Cheapest way to snowboard in Japan for 4-8 weeks?]

Hi all,

Appologies in advance for the lack of research I've done, I'm currently traveling and haven't been able to spend much time on the net.

 

I'm thinking of going to Japan to snowboard for 4-8 weeks starting in Feb. All I have with me is goggles, a beanie and a jacket. I will have to buy & then sell, or rent, everything else. I have absolutely no standards for accomodation, I just want the cheapest bed (or even floor) that's warm enough to live, and good snow and good people.

 

Can anyone with the knowledge enlighten me with some info on where's good and cheap, and rough price guides? Anywhere to buy and sell kit?

I've been planning on coming to Japan for snowboarding for 6 weeks or so from end of Jan. I've only recently really looked into prices, bit scary. Is tabi-tabi one of the cheapest places to stay? Might see you there.

Hey Wallas / Chris,

 

I'm currently in Thailand, I've been here for nearly 2 months now rock climbing in railey near krabi. I'm thinking of going to Japan at the end of Jan for 4-8 weeks boarding, then on to Oz, NZ, S.america and then USA.

 

Sounds like we have Vaguely similar plans? I was just wondering where in Japan you're going, how much it's costing etc? Sorry I haven't really had time to do that much research and what I have looked at the cost has scared me.
