Will you be wanting to use data/internet?
As loaf said, with NTT that is pretty much fixed at 5980 yen a month limit and you get to that limit pretty quick if you use it. If you don't use any data, I think the basic there is 1050 yen. So anywhere between 1050 and 5980 yen for data. Add onto that the basic cost + your calls package.

Happened to a friend of mine. But even worse. Pants got split and their botty ended up sore enough for a hospital visit to be necessary. Ouch!

No actually one a less major road.
They had a stready stream of EVERYONE speeding over the limit though.
Seriously, in the place they got me I can't imagine anyone keeping to the limit.
I drove that stretch of road yesterday at exactly the speed limit. It was ridiculous. People behind me getting annoyed too.

Got nabbed last month near where I live. Never seen them before in that place but they were totally out of view so no warning. That few seconds when the bloke jumped up with his big red flashing sticks seemed to take forever.
I was going 16km over the 40 limit. Fine was 12,000 yen.

I am buying a new one and only last week asked the company who look after my apartment building. They had no problem with me wanting to install a proper aircon, said ok straight away.
