Sun Meadows Kiyosato is located on the southeastern slopes of Akadake in Hokuto City in the northern region of Yamanashi Prefecture, close to the border with Nagano Prefecture.
This ski area has two quad lifts (1,100m and 520m) and one pair lift (430m). There is a short official ungroomed course area near the top of the mountain.
Until fairly recently, Sun Meadows Kiyosato was exclusively for skiers, but there are now no restrictions on snowboarding.
This region does not usually receive huge amounts of natural snowfall, so artificial snowmaking machines are available to assist nature if and when required.
In the 1990s, this ski area was known as Kitz Meadows Oizumi Kiyosato. It has been operating with the current name since 2002.
