Tokusagamine is a ski area located on the northern slopes of the mountain of the same name in the north region of Yamaguchi City in Yamagata Prefecture.
It is the most westerly ski area on the main island of Honshu.
One 470m pair lift covers the main lower area of Tokusagamine. That is the only ski lift in Yamaguchi Prefecture. From the top of the lift, there is a fairly steep course directly back to the base and a gentler detour course that may still be challenging for beginners. There apparently used to be another simple surface lift near the base area, but that appears to have been removed and is not mentioned on the official website.
For most people, the top of the pair lift is the top of the ski area. There is, however, another ski run course above the lift mainly used for competitions and for people who want to hike up.
Snowfall is unreliable in this region, so the ski lift opens 'when there is at least 20-30cm of snow'. When there is not enough snow for the ski runs to open, the area can still open just for sledging.
