Taira is a ski area located in Nanto City in the southwestern region of Toyama Prefecture.
This ski area was initially known as Nashitani in what used to be Taira Village. It became known as Taira with the installation of ski lifts in 1985.
It now has three pair lifts (556m, 200m, 490m) and is often host to local and sometimes national school ski events.
Taira is one of three ski areas in Nanto City. The other two are IOX-AROSA and Takanbo. There used to be several other ski areas in Nanto City that have now closed.
