Wakasa Hyonosen is a ski area located in Wakasa Town in the eastern region of Tottori Prefecture.
This ski area is on the western slopes of Mt Hyonosen. It is geographically close to the border and ski areas in neighbouring Hyogo Prefecture (Yabu City and Kami Town). However, there is no connection between the two regions.
Wakasa Hyonosen has two pair lifts (824m and 458m) and three single lifts (476m, 546m and 440m).
Juhyo ice-monster formations on the trees are one thing this ski area is known for. Some even call it the 'Zao of the west' (referring to the famous juhyo at Zao Onsen ski area in Yamagata Prefecture).
