Kagamiganaru is a ski area located in Kofu Town in the western region of Tottori Prefecture.

This ski area is on the southeastern slopes of Mt Daisen - a volcanic mountain with an elevation of over 1700m, making it the highest in the Chugoku region.


The full official name of this ski area is Kyukamura Okudaisen Kagamiganaru. Still, it is mainly known as just Kagamiganaru.


It has one 200m pair lift, and there is also a cross-country course.

Normal season dates

Kagamiganaru usually plans to be open from mid- to late December until late March. See below for the actual opening and closing dates in recent seasons.


Normal opening times

The lift at Kagamiganaru normally operates from 9:00am until 4:30pm. It closes between 11:30am and 12:30pm on weekdays. Lunch, anyone? The ski area is often closed on Tuesdays and some Wednesdays. Be sure to check which days it is closed before going.


Night skiing

There is no night skiing at this ski area.

Introduction to the region

Tottori Prefecture is located in the Chugoku region of the main island of Honshu in western Japan. Tottori Prefecture borders Shimane Prefecture to the west, Hiroshima Prefecture to the southwest, Okayama Prefecture to the south, and Hyogo Prefecture to the east.


The beautiful 1729m Mt Daisen in the western region of the prefecture is a popular destination year-round, and there are several ski areas around the mountain, the largest being Daisen White Resort.


There is also one ski area (Wakasa Hyonosen) on the eastern border with Hyogo Prefecture.


Kagamiganaru is the only ski area currently operating in Kofu Town.
