Daisen Masumizu Kogen SNOW PARK is a ski area located in Houki Town in the western region of Tottori Prefecture.

This ski area is on the western slopes of Mt Daisen, a volcanic mountain with an elevation of over 1700m.


Daisen Masumizu Kogen has been closed for the last few seasons. It will be re-opening for the 2022-2023 season. There are two lifts, but only one is used during the winter season. (The other lift is used in the summer months).


There are three other separate ski areas on the slopes of Mt Daisen. They are Daisen White Resort, Oku Daisen and Kagamiganaru.

Daisen Masumizu Kogen Snow Park usually plans to be open from mid- to late December until early March. See below for the actual opening and closing dates in recent seasons.


Normal opening times

Daisen Masumizu Kogen is normally open from 9:00am until 5:00pm.


Night skiing

Night skiing is usually Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays until 10:00pm. Some exceptions


Families & children

There is a Yuki Asobi Zone for playing in the snow and other snow activities. A 500 yen entry charge allows entry.


Lessons

Ski and snowboard lessons are available at Daisen Masumizu Kogen.


Rental

Introduction to the region

Tottori Prefecture is located in the Chugoku region of the main island of Honshu in western Japan. Tottori Prefecture borders Shimane Prefecture to the west, Hiroshima Prefecture to the southwest, Okayama Prefecture to the south, and Hyogo Prefecture to the east.


The beautiful 1729m Mt Daisen in the western region of the prefecture is a popular destination year-round, and there are several ski areas around the mountain, the largest being Daisen White Resort.


There is also one ski area (Wakasa Hyonosen) on the eastern border with Hyogo Prefecture.


Daisen Masumizu Kogen Snow Park is the only ski area currently operating in Houki Town.
