Yogo Kogen Resort Yap, often known as just Yap, is a ski area located in Nagahama City in the northern region of Shiga Prefecture.
It is the northernmost ski area in the prefecture and almost on the border with Fukui Prefecture. The main road (Route 365) continues beyond the ski area into Fukui Prefecture. However, that section of the road is closed in winter, blocking direct access from the north.
Yogo Kogen Resort Yap has three pair lifts (a fourth lift has been closed since the 2022-2023 season, but it does not affect available terrain). The C lift has a mid-station for alighting.
One of the features of this ski area is the floodlit night skiing until 10:00pm on Saturdays during the peak season.
Yogo Kogen Resort Yap ski area opened in 1989.

Introduction to the region
Shiga Prefecture is located in the Kansai region of the main island of Honshu in western Japan. It encircles Lake Biwa, Japan's largest freshwater lake, and borders Fukui Prefecture to the north, Gifu to the east, Mie to the south, and Kyoto to the west.
The ski areas in Shiga are located in the northern region of the prefecture.
Gransnow Okuibuki, one of the larger ski areas in the Kansai region and previously known as Oku Ibuki, is in the northern region of Maibara City, close to the border with Gifu. Biwako Valley, near the western shores of Lake Biwa in Otsu City, is popular with visitors from the Otsu and Kyoto areas.
Shiga Prefecture should not be confused with the popular highland area in the northern region of Nagano Prefecture known as Shiga Kogen.
Yogo Kogen Resort Yap is one of 2 ski areas currently operating in Nagahama City.
