Hiruzen Bear Valley is a ski area located in Maniwa City in the northern region of Okayama Prefecture.
This ski area has north-facing slopes overlooking nearby Mt Daisen in Tottori Prefecture.
It has two pair lifts, and all slopes are open for night skiing (usually on Fridays, weekends and holidays).
It is just a 5-minute drive from the Hiruzen IC exit on the Yonago Expressway.
The name of this ski area apparently comes from the words Beautiful Exciting Adventure and Resort.

Normal season dates
Hiruzen Bear Valley usually plans to be open from late December until mid-March. See below for the actual opening and closing dates in recent seasons.
Normal opening times
Hiruzen Bear Valley is normally open from 8:30am on weekdays and at 8:00am on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. On Fridays, Saturdays and nights before holidays the ski area is open until 10:00pm. On other days it is open until 9:00pm. The lifts close from 4:55pm until 5:30pm every day for maintenance before night skiing.
Park
The Board Park is near the base of the ski area and features numerous items.
Families & children
There is a Kids Park area for young children with a snow escalator near the base Bear's House building. Entry is 500 yen and various items for playing in the snow can be used for free.

Ski lessons are available at Hiruzen Bear Valley.
Rental
Ski and snowboard equipment & wear rental is available.

Introduction to the region
Okayama Prefecture is located in the Chugoku region of the main island of Honshu in western Japan.
The prefecture faces Kagawa Prefecture in Shikoku across the Seto Inland Sea, and it shares a border with Tottori Prefecture to the north, Hyogo Prefecture to the east and Hiroshima Prefecture to the west.
All of the ski areas in Okayama Prefecture are in the northern region of the prefecture, along the border with Tottori Prefecture.
Hiruzen Bear Valley is one of a few ski areas currently operating in Maniwa City.
