Kujyu Shinrin Koen is a ski area located in Kokonoe Town in the western region of Oita Prefecture.
The ski area is also known as Kujyu Snow World, Kujyu Forest Park or just Kujyu.
By no means large compared to many ski areas on Honshu and Hokkaido, Kujyu is the largest ski area on Kyushu. It has one triple lift, two pair lifts, and a 150m moving walkway. It opened in December 1996.
Snowmaking machines assist with natural snowfall when required.
With Gokase Highland in Miyazaki Prefecture announcing its permanent closure in summer 2026, Kujyu Shinrin Koen is currently the most southerly and westerly ski area in Japan and the only operating ski area in Kyushu.
