By train and public transport

  • 15.6km from Urasa Station on the Joetsu Shinkansen line

The nearest local train station is Itsukamachi Station (just over 10km) on the Joetsu local line.


Muikamachi Station (just under 13km) is the nearest larger station on the same local Joetsu line and the Hokuhoku line.


Urasa Station is the closest station on the Joetsu Shinkansen bullet train line and is about 16km away from Muikamachi Hakkaisan.


Buses are available from the East Exit of Muikamachi Station direct to Muikamachi Hakkaisan. The journey takes about 30 minutes and costs 450 yen for adults and 230 yen for children. The bus leaves Muikamachi Station at 9:40am, 12:50pm, 2:50pm and 4:35pm.

By road

From the Muikamachi IC exit, turn left at the traffic lights onto Route 253 for about 700m until reaching the traffic lights on Route 17. Then turn left onto Route 17 heading north towards Nagaoka for about 2.5km. Turn right into Prefecture Road 214 and follow the road straight on to the ski area.


Muikamachi Hakkaisan is about 9km from Route 17.


Free parking is available at the base areas of the ski area for about 1,000 vehicles.


Parking is 1,000 yen on weekends and holidays.
