Snow Resort Romance no Kamisama is a ski area located on the northern slopes of Mt Kosha in Kijimadaira Village in the northeastern region of Nagano Prefecture.
Until 2023, this ski area was known as Kijimadaira (and before that, it was known as Kitashinshu Kijimadaira).
The current name of this ski area is from the title of a famous song by Kohmi Hirose that has been associated with the ski season since its release in 1993. The accepted translation of Romance no Kamisama, the name of the song, is The Cupid of Romance. That English is displayed on the official website, along with the official Japanese name. It's a rather strange name for a ski area and might be confusing with the different English 'translation'. (We'll probably always fondly remember it as Kijimadaira).
The ski area operates two quad lifts (741m and 1,203m) and four pair lifts (785m, 645m, 594m and 870m).
It has been open since 1963 and is famous for its 'steepest in Japan' 46-degree Pioneer course, a record shared with a slope at GRANSNOW Okuibuki in Shiga Prefecture. The snow on that top run is left ungroomed. Let's challenge!

Introduction to the region
Nagano Prefecture is located in the Chubu region of the main island of Honshu. It is one of only eight landlocked prefectures in Japan, bordered by Niigata, Gunma, Saitama, Yamanashi, Shizuoka, Aichi, Gifu, and Toyama.
Nagano Prefecture is sometimes referred to as 'the roof of Japan' because of the steep, rugged terrain of the many 2,000-3,000m mountains that comprise the Japan Alps. The Northern Alps are located along the northwestern region bordering Gifu and Toyama. The Central Alps are in the southwestern region, and the Southern Alps are along the southeastern border.
After Hokkaido, Nagano Prefecture is home to the second-largest number of ski areas in Japan. It has multiple world-class winter sports resorts within its boundaries, and some were venues for the main events of the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics. There are ski areas throughout the mountains of Nagano Prefecture, but the majority are in the northern and central regions.
Snow Resort Romance no Kamisama is one of 2 ski areas currently operating in Kijimadaira Village. The other is neighbouring The Kijima Snow Park.
