Miyagi Zao Sumikawa Snow Park is about 32km from Shiroishi Station and not much further from the Shiroishi Zao Station on the Tohoku Shinkansen line.

There is a shuttle bus from Sendai Station. The bus leaves the East Exit of the station at 8:30am and arrives at the ski area at 10:30am. That service runs from 21st December 2024 through 23rd March 2025.

A pack that includes a lift ticket and a ride on the bus is available.

Miyagi Zao Sumikawa Snow Park is a 10km drive off Route 457 in Zao town on Prefecture Road 12 - otherwise known as the Echo Line and out of winter season connecting the region with Zao Onsen in Yamagata on the other side of the mountain.

The Miyagi Kawasaki IC exit of the Yamagata Expressway is 24km away while the Murata IC and Shiroishi IC exits on the Tohoku Expressway to the east are both about 26km from the ski area.

Approach the ski area using Route 457 and the Zao Echo Line road.

Note that while this ski area is actually quite close to Zao Onsen in Yamagata Prefecture, the connecting section of road is closed during the winter season.

Free parking is available at the base of the ski area on three car parks.
