Nanao Korosa, or just Korosa, is a ski area located in Nanao City in the northern region of Ishikawa Prefecture on the Noto Peninsula.
With the small Wajimashi Mii closed recently, Nanao Korosa is the only operating ski area on the Noto Peninsula.
The ski area is south of the city centre and overlooks Lake Tane (the dam lake of Tane Dam).
The ski area opened in 1999.
This region is not known for heavy snowfall, so the ski season can be unpredictable. There have even been a few seasons when it could not open due to a lack of snow.

Introduction to the region
Ishikawa Prefecture is located in the Chubu region of Honshu. The prefecture shares borders with Toyama Prefecture to the east, Gifu Prefecture to the southeast and Fukui Prefecture to the south.
The ski areas currently operating in Ishikawa are located in the mountains within and around Hakusan City in the southern region of the prefecture, though there used to be quite a few more. See the SnowJapanHistory for more details.
Nanao Korosa is the only ski area currently operating in Nanao City.
