Rokkosan Snow Park is a ski area located in Kobe City in the southern region of Hyogo Prefecture.
This ski area is about 15km northeast of central Kobe and is close to the top of the Rokko Arima Ropeway.
This region does not get much natural snowfall, and this was the first outdoor artificial snow area in Japan when it first opened in 1964. At that time, it was known as Rokko Jinko Ski-jo (basically meaning Rokko artificial ski area). The name was changed in 2014 to celebrate its 50th anniversary.
There are three short pair lifts at Rokko Snow Park, with two 200m lifts running parallel. There is also a 'moving belt' walkway. The ski area can be reached by bus, Rokko Cable or Rokko Arima Ropeway.
Unlike most ski areas in Japan, an entry charge is required to enter the facility (in addition to a ticket to use the ski lifts).

Introduction to the region
Hyogo Prefecture is located in the Kansai region of western Honshu. It shares a border with Kyoto Prefecture to the east, Osaka Prefecture to the southeast, and Okayama and Tottori Prefectures to the west.
The ski areas in Hyogo are mostly located within Yabu City, Toyooka City and Kami Town in the northwestern region of the prefecture. The popular ski areas are either around Mt Hachibuse or in Kannabe Kogen, a bit further northeast.
There is just one ski area in the south of the prefecture, and it is within the city limits of Kobe. Thanks to artificial snowmaking machines, Rokkosan Snow Park is usually one of the first ski areas in the Kansai region to open each year. It is a small area but within easy reach of central Kobe City.
Rokkosan Snow Park is the only ski area currently operating in Kobe City.
