Kokusetsu Akankohan is located about 1km off Route 240 (Marimo National Highway) close to the southern shores of Lake Akan and close to Akanko Onsen.

The Ashoro IC exit of the Doto Expressway is about 59km to the south west. From the Ashoro IC exit, turn left to head north on Route 242 and then turn right in Ashoro town to head east on Route 241. Follow Route 241 until reaching Route 240 - turn right onto Route 240 and head into Akan Onsen.
