The closest exit on the Doto Expressway is Ashoro IC, though if you are arriving from the south/west, the Otofuke Obihiro IC is the more convenient exit to use.

From the Otofuke Obihiro IC exit on the Doto Expressway, turn left onto Route 241 (Ashoro National Highway) and remain on this road for just over 30km until reaching Kamishihoro town. At Kamishirhoro turn left onto Route 273 (Nukabira National Highway) and follow this road for another 23km until reaching Nukabira Gensenkyo at the south western tip of Lake Nukabira. The base car parks are straight on as the main road turns a sharp right to continue north.

There are several free parking areas close to the base of Nukabira Gensenkyo, holding up to 800 vehicles.
