Kamikawa Station on the Sekihoku Honsen line is just over 22km to the north west of the Daisetsuzan Sounkyo Kurodake.

There is no direct shuttle bus, but a local bus service from Kamikawa Station stops in Sounkyo, about 5 minutes walk from the Ropeway.

Nearest national route: Route 39 (0.4km away)

The Ropeway at the base of the ski area is just a few hundred metres off Route 39, otherwise known as Taisetsu National Highway.

Daisetsuzan Sounkyo Kurodake is just under 22km from the Kamikawa Sounkyo IC exit of the Asahikawa Monbetsu Expressway.

There is a free car park at the base station of the Ropeway for about 60 cars.
