Tambara Ski Park is a ski area located in Numata City in the northern region of Gunma Prefecture.
The base of Tambara Ski Park is at an elevation of 1,250m, close to Tambara Dam and lake. With a vertical of around 300m, the southwesterly facing ski runs are generally on the gentle side, especially in the lower area.
Tambara Ski Park has one quad lift, one triple lift and four pair lifts.
This ski area often enjoys a long season and can usually remain open until Golden Week in early May.
Tambara Ski Park has been operating since 1988.

Normal season dates
Tambara Ski Park usually plans to be open from late November until early May. See below for the actual opening and closing dates in recent seasons.
Normal opening times
Tambara Ski Park is normally open from 8:30am until 4:00pm on weekdays and from 8:00am until 4:00pm on weekends and holidays.
Night skiing
There is no night skiing at Tambara Ski Park.
Free ride park
There is a Free Ride Park areas in the central section of the ski area.
Families & children
TambaLand is located at the base of the ski area near the car park and offers a tubing area as well as sledging, snow striders and a place to 'play in the snow'. There is also a moving snow escalator. Normally open 9:00am until 4:00pm. The entry charge 1,800 yen for the day (free for children under two years). Tambaland is open from 20th December 2025 until 5th April 2026.

The ticket prices shown valid on most weekdays in the main season. Tickets are more expensive on weekends but there are exceptions.
A 1 day adult ticket on a most expensive weekend or holiday is 6,500 yen.
Cheaper tickets are available during the early season (until 12th December 2025) and late season (from 6th April 2026).
Children under 3 years are not charged.

Introduction to the region
Gunma Prefecture is located in the northwestern part of the Kanto region on the main island of Honshu. It is one of eight landlocked prefectures in Japan. Gunma is surrounded by Niigata Prefecture and Fukushima Prefecture to the north, Nagano Prefecture to the west, Tochigi Prefecture to the east, and Saitama Prefecture to the south.
The ski areas of Gunma are largely found in the northern region (Minakami Town, Kawaba Village and Katashina Village) and the western region (Kusatsu Town and Tsumagoi Village).
Tambara Ski Park is the only ski area currently operating in Numata City.
