White World Oze Iwakura is 36km from Numata Station on the Joetsu line and about 43km from the Jomo Kogen Station on the Joetsu Shinkansen line.

The daily Katashina Snow Express bus runs between Tokyo Shinjuku and Katashina Village.


A free shuttle bus from there (Michi no eki Katashina) to the ski area is available.

By road

Nearest national route: Route 401 (1.5km away)


White World Oze Iwakura is located just off Route 401, about 30km to the north east of the Numata IC on the Kanetsu Expressway.


From the Numata IC exit, turn left onto Route 120 (Nihon Romantic Highway) and head towards Nikko. Continue on Route 120 for about 25km until arriving at the turn off for Route 401 just after passing through the central Kamada part of Katashina Village. Turn left onto Route 401 over the bridge heading towards Oze and Tokura. Continue on this road until arriving at a large sign on the left side for Katashina Kogen. The turn off for White World Oze Iwakura is just over 1km further along Route 401. At the sign turn left to head up to the car park.

There is parking for over 1,100 vehicles at the base on two car parks. The smaller one by the base hotel is mainly for hotel guests. The larger Number 2 car park is for day visitors and a free shuttle bus runs between the car park and the base of the ski area if you don't want to walk.


Parking is free on weekdays and every day until mid-March 2026. The parking charge on weekends and holidays is 1,000 yen per car (until 2pm). If there are 4 or more people in a car, it is free on weekends.
