Aizu Kogen Takatsue is a ski area located in Minamiaizu Town in the southwestern region of Fukushima Prefecture.
The base of Aizu Kogen Takatsue is at an elevation of just under 1,000m, and the top is at 1,650m. The ski area operates two quad lifts, one triple lift, three pair lifts and one single lift. There are 15 official ski runs with a longest run of 5,000m and a steepest gradient of 36 degrees.
Aizu Kogen Takatsue ski area has been operating since 1980.
There are four ski areas in Minamiaizu Town, the others being Aizu Kogen Daikura, Aizu Kogen Nango and Kita Nikko Takahata. This region might not be as convenient as the ski areas around Mt Bandai, but the snow quality is often good.

Aizu Kogen Takatsue is normally open every day from 8:30am until 4:230pm during the daytime.
Night skiing
There is no night skiing.
Park
There is a half pipe, slope style course and cross course off the Sky Road 2 lift. Snow cat tours are available, as well as early morning 'first tracks' on some days.
Families & children
The Wai Wai Park is 1,000 yen to enter (or 500 yen with a valid ski lift ticket). Free for under 2 year olds. The area features a moving walkway, inflatables, and various snow related activities.

Introduction to the region
Fukushima Prefecture is the southernmost prefecture of the Tohoku region of northern Japan. Fukushima Prefecture borders Miyagi Prefecture and Yamagata Prefecture to the north, Niigata Prefecture to the west, Gunma Prefecture to the southwest, and Tochigi Prefecture and Ibaraki Prefecture to the south.
The majority of the ski areas in Fukushima Prefecture are in the northern region around Mt. Bandai and north of Lake Inawashiro (the fourth-largest lake in Japan), as well as in the western region of the prefecture.
