Aomori Spring Ski Resort is a ski area located on the northern slopes of Mt Iwaki in Ajigasawa Town, in the western region of Aomori Prefecture.
This ski area initially opened in 1989 and was known as Ajigasawa. In 2008 the name was changed to Naqua Shirakami Ski Resort and then once more to the current name in December 2015.
Aomori Spring Ski Resort features one 2967m gondola, two long quads (1700m, 1449m) and two pair lifts (1139m, 1007m). The Aspen pair lift is usually only used for reserved events.
The Aomori Spring Park usually opens from late December until closing and features various items; the popular half-pipe is typically open from January.
There are a number of 'self-responsibility areas' up the upper sections of the ski area, along with guided backcountry tours and snowshoe hiking.

Introduction to the region
Aomori Prefecture is located in the Tohoku region on the northwestern side of Honshu. It is the most northerly Prefecture of Honshu, and the Tsugaru Strait separates it from Hokkaido. Akita Prefecture and Iwate Prefecture share a border with Aomori to the south.
There are ski areas across Aomori, with the most well-known probably being on the slopes of the Hakkoda mountain range. This location is about 20km south of Aomori City. It is famous for backcountry tours, unforgiving weather, and 'juhyou' (frost-covered trees, also known as 'snow monsters'). The other larger-scale operation in the prefecture is Aomori Spring Ski Resort in Ajigasawa Town.
Many of the other ski areas in Aomori Prefecture are small operations.
Aomori Spring Ski Resort is the only ski area currently operating in Ajigasawa Town.
