The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Let's great conditions! Great to see over 30cm of fresh snow this morning. The resort is reporting 30-40cm fresh fluffy white stuff to play in. Nice and cold too, so wrap up well and I hope you can enjoy the excellent conditions. Snow isn't expected to continue all day with clearer skies by the end of the lift day forecast. And that should be how we start tomorrow as well. Holiday in Japan today, and so expect more people around but still I don't expect it to be busy. Should be great conditions on the slopes this Christmas morning. Always worth a ride that one. Though maybe not when it's too windy! Normal full season lift ticket prices from today as well with the resort now fully open. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . You want half a metre of fresh snow? You got it! Madarao reporting 40-50cm of fresh on the mountain this morning. I reckon it might even be more with what fell yesterday, but whichever way you look at it it's just lots of fresh powder to play in. Good and cold as well this morning so get wrapped up and face mask time to make the most of it all. Not much more to say really. Conditions should be top notch. Weekend ahead and sun is forecast for tomorrow and Sunday, with it set to be not quite as cold. Couldn't ask for more really. Enjoy! The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Morning. So here we are already at the last day of the year. Looks like it should be a fun one. Will surely get rather busy out there but Madarao Kogen is reporting 15-25cm of snow overnight and yes I can vouch for that though it's keeping fairly mild and there's some sky on show this morning with clearings in the cloud. Let's hope it stays clearer for the celebrations tonight - late nighta, sake, fireworks, etc - though snow might be falling by tonight with that decent snowfall still expected overnight. So we should be fresh once again for New Years Day. And I will let you know tomorrow morning. I'll try not to be too late! ;) Have fun! The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . 20-30cm more snow on the mountain this second day of the year, and some blue skies as well above Madarao. Some cloud still but it's definitely a good start to the day. Very cold. Early tracks should be awesome too. Forecast says more snow due later on so those snow clouds should be back. It shouldn't be as cold from Sunday as well. The resort is talking about a new item for New Year called PowArch located at the top of Powderwave II. Instructions are to shout Pow Pow when you use it. Now you know! Certainly looks worth a try anyway. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Yesterday was... disappointing. Rain. We don't like rain. It's rubbish. But anyway happily I can report that it is now snowing. Hurray! Madarao reporting 15cm, not quite as much down where I am. If we can get a decent amount on the ground today to cover up damage done yesterday, it should be good for the weekend. The snow isn't due to continue right through though and may clear up sooner than we hope for. Come on snow, lots please. Tomorrow the sun should be out. So even if there isn't a thick new layer of fresh powder, the weather conditions should be good. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Yesterday was one better forgotten in the big picture (smaller picture too actually!)... rain is not fun in mid winter. Happily, this morning we have a white cover to make us feel better, and Madarao Kogen is reporting 10-15cm of fresh snow on the mountain. It's still snowing now and due to be for the day, perhaps easing late on. Definitely colder this morning after those few days of warmer conditions. Tomorrow we might see more sun, but Frtiday onwards it's looking like a run of days with snow snow and more snow. Lots of potential there. Should be a good weekend. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . What a great day it was yesterday. Maybe not absolutely perfect powder conditions, but the weather was amazing and I can't imagine people not enjoying it out there. Check out the photo below that the resort posted. Beautiful. This morning, it doesn't look like that! Not yet anyway. It's cloudy to start with. A thin layer of snow overnight - resort report 5cm - and cloud hanging over the mountain. Might it clear up and the sun appear again? It might, says some local forecasts. Tomorrow milder temps are due but by night it should cold down again and snow to fall on Tuesday and Wednesday. (Rain might come before that, but let's just hope the forecast is wrong on that score!) Take care and have a good Sunday.
