In fact, the sun is out and there's a lot of blue sky to be seen and hardly any wind. One of those very fine days to be out sliding down the mountain. But good news at Madarao this morning with 30cm of fresh snow to report. Lighter than the kind we got yesterday as well. Strong winds and poor visibility though today and top lifts might be affected. Tomorrow will be much 'kinder' weather wise, and there should be some more fresh to play in, should be a good day. Well, new snow we have though perhaps not as much as we were thinking.... about 5cm of snowfall fallen since early this morning, but it is continuing to snowing now. Not crazy cold either, with the thermometer hanging around 0C at the moment, so hopefully it will drop later on and we can get a good amount of new snow during the day today and this evening. I will surely let you know tomorrow! Last day of the long weekend in Japan here, though not as many people out on the slopes this morning as there were yesterday. To summarise: it is blinking cold in the morning but will warm up quickly to a fine day. No new snow, but lots of fun in the sun to be had. The only difference from yesterday is the forecast for tomorrow. More snow is forecast for tomorrow so if you have the day off, it may be worth a trip up as there is a good chance of a big powder day tomorrow. But that's tomorrow. Tomorrow is another day, to quote from a James Bond film. Or was that 'Tomorrow Never Dies', or maybe 'Die Another Day'...well anyway, if 'Tomorrow is another day' isn't a James Bond title, it really should be. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . A snapping cold morning this morning to start the long weekend, but clear conditions await for those who can brave the first hour or two. No new snow fell overnight, leaving some well groomed slopes just perfect for burning top to bottom runs. There is no snow on the horizon at present, but very good conditions none the less. Tonight should be clear for Madarao's version of the fire festival. There will be fireworks and a bonfire and plenty of warm sake. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Add another 20cm or so the what we got yesterday, and the resort are saying up to 30cm of new snowfall on the slopes. Yes, some lovely new snow has been deposited on the slopes of Madarao, making for some very likely nice conditions this morning that I'm keen to check out. Another cold morning, minus seven degrees and that snow continuing to fall. Clearer conditions are likely tomorrow and Sunday so it has the makings for a good weekend. Fireworks tomorrow night which should be fun. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . 0cm of snow to report this morning and very fine clear skies over the mountain early on. There have been a fair few of these this season, and it sure is looking beautiful. Though personally, 50cm of fresh snow on the slopes is more beautiful, in a different kind of way of course! -3 degrees and hardly any wind at all. Nice day to be out. Perhaps clouds will move in later on and there's a chance of a sprinkling of snow before the end of the day. All of the resort should be open and it shouldn't be busy out there. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . It is another clear morning in Madarao today. With no cloud cover it was a particularly brisk start to the morning (in other words, extremely cold). But as the sun rises, it looks like it will be another great day on the mountain. A little snow is forecast for the afternoon, but nothing to really trouble the bean counters. All in all, the powder is still around, the curry is in the pot, the ramen is steaming, the beer is on ice - another fine day basically. Close to a metre of snow in the last two days and today is clear blue skies. Easily the best day of the season so far and it has also had the courtesy to come on a Saturday. Get in early before someone else eats up some of the powder. Though right now there's enough for more than a few. All open as normal. Thunderbirds are go!
