Blue skies above, just some cloud and a wind of around 3m/s. Pretty much the same really. Good to be outside for sure. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . 0cm of snow to report this morning and very fine clear skies over the mountain early on. There have been a fair few of these this season, and it sure is looking beautiful. Though personally, 50cm of fresh snow on the slopes is more beautiful, in a different kind of way of course! -3 degrees and hardly any wind at all. Nice day to be out. Perhaps clouds will move in later on and there's a chance of a sprinkling of snow before the end of the day. All of the resort should be open and it shouldn't be busy out there. Clouds arrived and left us with about 10cm of new snow - nice and light powdery variety too - though they have moved on again leaving us with generally clear skies in Madarao this morning. Sounds perfect. More of the same tomorrow as well if the forecast is right. Next decent snow fall up Wednesday into Thursday along with a dip in temps. Not much of a wind so a feel good day out. All areas open. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . It is another clear morning in Madarao today. With no cloud cover it was a particularly brisk start to the morning (in other words, extremely cold). But as the sun rises, it looks like it will be another great day on the mountain. A little snow is forecast for the afternoon, but nothing to really trouble the bean counters. All in all, the powder is still around, the curry is in the pot, the ramen is steaming, the beer is on ice - another fine day basically. Close to a metre of snow in the last two days and today is clear blue skies. Easily the best day of the season so far and it has also had the courtesy to come on a Saturday. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . And today is even better. 50-60cm of new snowfall being reported by the snow and evidence of such a snowfall at my feet. How's that for a number this morning. Heavy snowfall since yesterday has really given us some deep conditions this morning and conditions that have prevented some lifts from opening on time as staff arrive (eventually) and get to grips with all that snow. As light as the snow is, it sure is heavy! Hope that makes sense! The snow continues to fall and it is cold this morning. Poor visibility on the slopes. The storm should be passed by tomorrow when the sun probably be out shining down on us and it won't be as cold as it is today. Great conditions. I hope you can partake and enjoy. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Ah, now this is good. The snow started in the middle of the day yesterday and we had about 15cm by evening time, and this morning up to 20-30cm of new snowfall. Very nice. Still, it is on top of the somewhat icy conditions that we had before the snow hit below it and so a bit more would be good to give us nice soft deep conditions. The snow is still falling and should be into tomorrow as well. Generally poor visibility on the slopes. The tree runs are open again today so should be a good day. Kind of an overcast and cloudy but bright start to the day. So when's this snow coming, I hear you ask? Forecast says today and tomorrow, so we'll just have to hope that the forecast gets it right. It should be getting colder from tomorrow as well so hopefully a return to mid-winter like conditions. We didn't escape the wet yesterday in the end and the damage that brings but lets try to put that behind us (he types grumpily) and bring the better news... 10cm of new snow this morning. Yes, it turned into snow overnight and there's a fresh layer out there now. Better conditions but 10cm isn't massive and so we want more, more, more. The clouds have seen fit to disperse though for now and I can see some blue sky as well as the remaining cloud and for now snowfall has stopped. Snow still on the forecast for most days this week though so perhaps it's just very changeable today. The tree courses are closed today due to conditions left by yesterday. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . All the doom and gloom about rain have not eventuated this morning, although it is very warm for this time of year. A wind has come in from the south, which is good news for windsurfers, but not the best for snowboarders. The temperature was 3 degrees at last read of the thermometer. Balmy temperatures really, so you may want to bring your wind surfer if you have one, just in case. Apart from that, there is still plenty of snow around if you feel in the mood for skidding around in spring conditions, in winter. There has been no more snow at Madarao overnight, but the forecast has indicated that there is more coming tonight. So all is not lost. The new year break should still see some good powdery conditions. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . There has been more snow at Madarao overnight, resort reporting 15-25cm on the mountain. It is a relatively mild morning and will be all weekend. The visibility isn't poor at the moment, but once the fog lifts, it will be game on for a great powder day. Clearer weather is actually forecast for the day. The powder is a little heavier than perfect, but great really for this time of the year. Today also brings the opening of Madarao's new tree run called "Powder Theater". So you can not only get first tracks, but 'first ever' tracks. Something to tick off the old bucket list. First ever tracks. Check! All of the other tree runs are now open too. Nighta from tonight as well. A good chance of rain (please no!) tomorrow before it turns (hopefully quickly) into snowfall.
