The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . After yesterday the skies quite quickly clouding over, we got some rain last night I'm afraid. But! Happily that didn't last too long and it has changed into snow this morning with the resort saying that there's 10cm of fresh on the slopes. It's still snowing and poor visibility out there, I think fog is adding to the not-being-able-to-see thing going on this morning. Unfortunately the tree runs that were open are closed today due to the rain not helping conditions. The Freeride Park is open though. Hopefully the snow today will help and it should also be snowing tomorrow. Keeping cold too. Clearer conditions likely from Sunday before another cold snap due around January 1st. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . More snow this morning to report from Madarao Kogen. 10-15cm, though windy conditions mean that it's variable depending on where you look. One thing for sure is that it's a very cold morning here and the thermometer outside is saying -6C. From today the Number 3 lift and the Number 13 single lift are going to be moving and the plan seems to be for all of the tree runs to be open as well. Nighta also starting from tonight. New Year is not far off now of course and it being a weekend it's very likely going to be busy today. Local forecast has mixed weather lined up over the next few days. Cloud, bit of snow maybe, bit of sun. Not quite as cold. Snow forecast for New Years Day. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Beautiful weather this morning in Madarao. What happened to the snow clouds?! Well, they did give us 10+cm since yesterday but decided to pack up and move on out by the time the lifts were moving this morning and it's been a very fine day since. Clear blue skies. Great. The resort is pretty much all open now and all tree run courses open today. They should be fun. Nice snow conditions too, but it's quite busy out there this morning. As you would expect on the weekend before New Year. Still, a good atmosphere and people who are here to stay for New Year are already here. Find your friends and have fun! The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Just a thin layer of new snow overnight in Madarao and just a cloudy start to the day. A special day of course, it being New Years Eve. So what's on for the day? Well first up the resort has done a 'renewal' thing on the Free Ride Park so some new stuff to play in there (kicker, drum cam, rail, spine, roller, tyre. These things don't mean a whole amount to me personally, but I presume those interested know what they are!) Then it's some special Countdown events at the resort... nighta is extended until midnight so you can slide down the slopes right through until the end of the year; there'll also be fireworks and no doubt some things to eat and drink. And a very friendly and fun atmosphere. Hopefully followed by fresh snow tomorrow. All the very best for the New Year from myself and no doubt the friendly people at Madarao resort. This morning no fresh snow to report from Madarao Kogen, just some sore heads and weary people starting out a bit later than usual. The early birds got a good deal this morning. Cloudy conditions at the moment and relatively mild though it has started.... rainy sleet, that is. It has been raining lower down but the mountains are and will hopefully be getting snow. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . It's a good snowing morning greeting from Madarao Kogen. It was a good overnight, with 30cm or so of fresh snow to report to you. Lots of shovelling going on by people wrapped up well as while it's not as cold as it can get here there's a wind blowing making it feel particularly cold. The snowfall probably won't be here for long though, a clear up is expected. And maybe some sun tomorrow. Conditions are very good. Hope you can get to enjoy them. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Some fresh snow to report this morning from Madarao. 15-20cm in fact, according to the resort on the slopes. 10cm or so at base I saw. A fresh layer. A good cold morning as well and so conditions are being maintained. Generally cloudy this morning, but there have been a few times when the clouds have cleared a bit and some sky to see. But mostly the clouds have moved back in quite quickly. The next few days doesn't seem to bring much snowfall with snowy clouds due back from later on Wednesday and into the weekend. Looks like there's a really promising cold front due late in the week. Before that though we might get to see some sun. Nice and cold too, -7C. Poor visibility on mountain due to the cloud and snow falling. Tomorrow will probably be clear and sunny, hopefully keeping cold, and then next up in terms of snow is late Wednesday onwards when hopefully we'll be on for a few days of mad snow. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . It's not that cold this morning but there's 15cm or so of new snow to report. On the mountain the resort is reporting up to 30cm in places - actually over 30cm in places - so a decent overnight and start to the day meaning we can forget the wet conditions we had for a time yesterday because they don't matter anymore! Visibility not so good as the mountain is covered in cloud and it continues to snow. Should to at least into tomorrow. Go out prepared and some fine conditions should be found.
