The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Madarao Kogen is planning to open on Friday 18th December, so we are now just over 2 weeks away from opening. We have had bunch of varying conditions since my last report, though the generally mild start to winter has continued and currently there's just a dusting of snow on the top of the mountain. There's not as much snow yet as we would have hoped for and some of the resorts that plan to open in late November have been unable to do so. So the whole region is ready and waiting for the snow to arrive in style. Tonight and tomorrow may see the mountain turn white once again. I'll update you again next week with the latest. Bit of thin cloud around earlier but that will clear up leaving us with lovely blue skies again (very probably), and it'll get warm too. Not so warm overnight actually and again another relatively chilly start but that won't last. Just a few more days to go at Madarao Kogen this season, including today. Sad is me. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Here we are at the end of another ski and snowboard season at Madarao Kogen, and today has been another fine day to finish things up. It has been a good season for snowfall and the statistics clearly show that with 1055cm observed at base compared with 734cm the previous season. The statistics can be found near the bottom of this page and they make for interesting reading. --- I quite like the way Madarao Kogen finishes at the end of March - doesn't stretch things out and possibly even overstay it's welcome with ever deteriorating conditions. Rather, Madarao chooses to go out on a sort of high note with pretty much everything open right up until the end. Good on them. Having said that it's always sad of course and we want more. Remember, Madarao is a very nice place to visit out of the snow season too - I recommend coming and checking it out and escaping the heat of down below! --- Thank you for reading these Madarao Now reports, hope you enjoyed reading them and you found them helpful. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . The resort is reporting 15-20cm of fresh this morning and I can vouch for that on this very cold morning with a bit of a wind as well. Going to need to get wrapped up proper today if you are venturing out there with similar conditions forecast for the day and possibly into tomorrow as well. Some heavy snowfall brewing up in time for the weekend as well, so we shouldn't be short of fresh this week. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Lots of lovely light snow this morning in Madarao. That's what we like to see! Madarao is reporting a full 40-50cm of snow on the mountain this morning since yesterday. How does that sound? There's certainly a big chunk of snow to move off my car, but I think I'll leave that until later and instead head out for some first tracks. Which should be absolutely marvellous today! It's cold too and a moderate wind at times. Light snow was still falling earlier but actually there's some blue sky now as well and it's just cloud/fine for the moment. May not last though as snow is forecast for today and into tomorrow. There's lots of cloud this morning and light snow has been falling and we're forecast snow for the day today. Tomorrow once the snow clouds clear, chance of clearer skies with sun currently on the forecast for Wednesday. And back to snow on Thursday. Nighta was unfortunately cancelled though due to the weather conditions. This morning there's some blue sky on show, though still quite a lot of cloud around. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Snow haul of 10-15cm on the slopes apparently this morning here in Madarao. A little earlier it was just light snow falling and even a bit of sunlight but it's snowing more heavily just now as I write this report. Snow forecast for the day but less so for tomorrow when we might see some clearing of clouds if we're lucky. After all, if it's not snowing it might as well be nice and bright and sunny, I say. As I have mentioned before, it's the Powder Wave Session today from 10:30am over at Powder Wave. It's Saturday, so there's nighta tonight of course. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . So yes we got some snow overnight, the resort this morning reporting 20cm of fresh. Not as much as that outside my place but with up to 20cm out on the slopes it should be good this morning. The snow here is a bit wetter than the ideal but we'll take it. Don't worry, I signed off on it. This morning there's a lot of cloud around still but it isn't snowing any more. Forecast for today is cloud, maybe some clear, and later on today... snow. Good chance of decent snowfall tonight and through into tomorrow as well, along with temperatures dropping, so conditions for the weekend should be shaping up nicely. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . There's a bit of blue sky early this morning along with cloud. A nice day ahead of us? Forecast gives a good chance of the sun appearing today and over the next few days as well before some fresh snowfall at the weekend. Just a slight bit of snow since yesterday. It's keeping cold so snow conditions should be good as we are back to a normal weekday now. Powder Wave Session on Saturday 17th January meaning that the Powder Wave course will be closed from today so that the resort can prepare for that event.
