The resort is reporting 30cm of fresh snowfall since yesterday evening; I'm adding a little under that to my report. Tangram Ski Circus is now also part open. The snow has eased off and there is even a bit of sunshine appearing in places. Operations are still limited, but conditions with this fresh snow should be fun and I feel that I need to go check them. In the name of research, of course. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . The colder conditions continue I am happy to report and more snowfall too. The resort is reporting 10cm, I have measured another 17cm since my measurement early yesterday morning so there should be some fine conditions to be found this morning. It is a cloudy morning. Early on the top area of the mountain is covered in a bank of cloud but it's clearer lower down. Lots of people are due to be around this (long) weekend, though I wonder if the weather down in Tokyo might affect things. They are warning of 'heavy snow' down there this morning. Of course, for us heavy snow means something like 50cm over a day, not 5cm. Talking of which, let's have some of that! (The 50, not the 5). Snowfall due tonight and then again around Tuesday is looking promising. Have a good weekend. See you tomorrow. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Some really big snow flakes coming down at quite the pace when I was out there measuring just a bit earlier. I measured 38cm; the resort is reporting 30cm of fresh snowfall this morning. Not sure how long it will last today as it's due to ease but for now it's adding cm pretty quickly... and there's fresh on the groomers. Be prepared for cold conditions as well as the snow coming down. Yes, it is a good morning. Though not one for scenery - visibility is very limited right now. It's the middle day of the long weekend. Forecasts seem to be pointing towards some sunshine in the morning which should be nice for those here for the weekend. As long as it keeps cold, some sun will be welcomed. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Morning from Madarao. It was busy yesterday. Actually I had to go over to Myoko in the afternoon and there were a lot of people over there too. Yappari, one of the busiest mid-winter weekends of the season. This morning there is a lot of cloud around. No snow overnight but some from during the day yesterday (which is what I am recording this morning). It is cold too so I expect some nice conditions this morning. By this afternoon there will be less people around and then tomorrow it's back to a normal weekday. There's a good 20cm of snow overnight which should make for an excellent morning. It's coming down nicely as well now so just get wrapped up and the right googles before heading out. Seems the Super Quad lift is going to be a bit delayed getting going but apart from that all lifts (apart from the rested Number 5) should be moving. Snow clouds due to be over us through tomorrow. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Good morning Madarao fans. As much as I wished I was in Madarao, I unfortunately have to be in Tokyo today. So this is a remote report coming to you with the help of my friend up there. I trust they are being 100% honest with me! OK so it looks like the Super Quad lift still has a problem and will be closed for the day today too. The good lift people at Madarao are going to be giving it some tender loving care and a cup of cocoa tonight before bedtime, in the hope of getting it back operating from tomorrow. In snow news, I'm being told 18cm of fresh since yesterday. (The resort is reporting 10cm since last night). Visibility remains limited-poor as snow continues to fall. It is remaining cold too so conditions should be great. There might be some sunshine and clearer skies on Friday. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Still in Tokyo but making my way back to Madarao later today. And it sounds like it is a good (and cold) morning. The resort is reporting 20cm of fresh snowfall; my trusted friend says he measured 32cm since yesterday. I like the sound of that. I always think 25-30cm is a good number to be aiming for! The webcam shows some limited visibility once again. Can't wait to get back and ride the snow again tomorrow. The forecast shows snow easing off today and perhaps some sun tomorrow. Snow on Saturday and then perhaps a spell of clearer skies and milder conditions early next week. (Not too much please).
