The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Good morning and Happy New Year. I am happy to report fresh snow on this first day of 2024. Madarao is reporting 20cm, I'm not seeing that much. But it is welcome, especially after rain. I notice there really wasn't much at all lower down in the valley. Someone still needs to turn those taps on to properly! But anyway, while the overnight haul might be a bit disappointing considering what we were expecting, it should be a fairly decent morning, perhaps with limited visibility at the top. There will be no night skiing tonight. Expect sun tomorrow and the next snow is due around Thursday morning. It's a modest amount, indeed, but we'll take it and hope that forests are right when they tell us to expect more today and particularly tonight. Madarao is reporting 10cm, I measured 7cm. Colder too. As I write this, Madarao is shrouded in cloud though there is even some blue sky showing through on the Tangram side. That is temporary, hopefully. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . I have excellent news. We have received a lot of snow overnight. Madarao has reported 60cm. My measuring point has 56cm at 7:30am. Wonderful. And hopefully we will get a bit more before it stops later on today. No ski area operation changes to report as it is early on, but there might be. They will probably be spending the early hours dealing with it. Sun is forecast for tomorrow. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Hello from Madarao. Well, after all that beautiful snow yesterday morning, we actually got some sunshine in the afternoon with good visibility. What a very fine end to the long weekend it was, a gift to everyone who stayed on! (The 5cm of snow I am adding to this report is what we got post my report yesterday morning). We start this Tuesday morning with what looks like clear skies - it is very probably going to be fine and sunny. I wonder if any people have taken an extra day off today to enjoy it? I'm up for first lifts. (In the name of research, of course). There might be some light snow tomorrow night, but the next significant cm of snow is due Frida and into the weekend. No word just yet on tree runs, by the way. Forecasts are looking promising for quite a lot of a snow across the next week, particularly on Saturday and then again Monday/Tuesday. It would be great if we could get a few good days of consistent moderate to heavy snow. For today, though, there is some cloud about this morning but we'll probably get sun. (Maybe quite a lot of it). What makes that even greater is that we had good fresh snow before it, so today should be a whole lot of fun for anyone lucky enough to be here. The Crystal Bowl and Rabbit tree runs are open at Madarao, too. Yey. Even better is that there is more heavy snow due into tomorrow through Tuesday. Two days of consistent snow would be perfect. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . OK so I came back to a snowy Madarao, how I like it, and there's another 22cm to add this morning. Forecasts still have some 'snow' hanging over us for the day, but as I look out the window just now I can actually see a bit of sun getting through the clouds. Looks like there is a bit of blue sky over Tangram too. That might all be temporary, of course, though I'm guessing the main snowfall has peaked. Great to get this new snow of course and conditions should be really nice. Tomorrow should be great with clearer skies and sun expected. Keep cold, please! It looks very sunny over our lovely mountain, though, with clear blue skies. I'm sure it will have been a great morning. The ski area is not reporting any new snowfall this morning; just a very cold start to the day. (My friend on the phone told me 5cm so I am adding that to my report, so that is what I am provisionally posting here, with more snow to the north over in Myoko). Tomorrow might be snow on the mountain. Lower areas might get some rain, so I am hoping that we can avoid that.
