The latest Furano Now report can be found here . There has been another significant snowfall of 20cm overnight. There is low cloud sitting on the resort at the moment and it is snowing very lightly. The snow is expected to stop early morning and the conditions are forecast to be high cloud for most of the day. There is a light wind. The current temperature is -8c and the high will be -3c. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . It is not a good day ahead in terms of weather. Currently there is a moderate wind blowing around base. The forecast is for rain but at the moment it is delivering sleet and there is a 3cm build up of slushy snow in the resort area. Visibility looks variable between limited at the top to reasonable lower down. The temperature is now +3c and the high of +7c will be mid afternoon. At the time of posting this report the resort has not confirmed expected lift operations for the day but my guess would be the Ropeway will be on hold due to wind - best to check with the resort directly for updates. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . It has been snowing moderately overnight. The snowfall has eased up this morning leaving cloudy conditions and a moderate wind. The resort advises that the Gondola is closed and that wind may affect operation of other lifts. There is 21cm of new snow at base. Conditions are mild with current temperature around -1c and the day high expected to only go a little further up to +1c. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . Another fine season has finally come to and end, with today being the last day of operation for the 2023-2024 winter. It was a very good snowfall year with a total of 800cm of snowfall measured in the Kitanomine ski village. This is the second highest recording in the last 12 years, second to 820cm that fell in the 2015-16 season. Remembering that this measurement in not taken from the mountain, but from a location in the ski village, and on mountain it can often be up to 2 to 3 times this amount at the top. The season start with November providing a lot of snow to kick things off with 120cm. December and January delivered 213cm and 243cm respectively. February, while not bad, was a little bit lean at 118cm. The real surprise thought was how good March turned out to be with 100cm of fresh snowfall. The snow has now melted away around the area, and recent warm weather has seen the white fields of winter turn to vistas of green as the new growth comes through. We are about to enter golden week and the pink cherry blossom trees are in full bloom. Furano Now will now take a break for a few months and will be back with reports in the run up to the 2024-2025 opening. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . It is a nice warm spring day with the temperature currently +9c and the day high is expected to reach +18c. There is a thin cloud layer that is letting the sun through. Snow coverage is still very good for this time of year and you can ski from the top of the ropeway back to base.
