The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here . As I write this report, the sun is out, it's warm, and more importantly the Shibutoge ski lift has another hour or so left to go and once that stops moving that is the official end of the ski season here in Shiga Kogen.... a season that started way back on 18th November 2014. I make that pretty much 6 months ago! The last few months of the spring season always seems long but after today the next ski action will be in another 6 months... hopefully around mid-late November once again. So that's it then. It has been a good season I think; I could certainly enjoy lots of days with very fine powder conditions. I'll have to go back and re-read all my reports again to refresh my own memory and remember the details though. All of the archive reports from Shiga Kogen - and all of the other Now daily reports on SnowJapan - are always there, so you can go and take a look back at the season and indeed previous seasons as well. It's not an easy one to answer, and I'll leave it up to you to see how each season has gone in recent years. Thank you for reading the reports and no doubt we'll be back here come November when the 15-16 season is fast approaching. Have a great summer and see you on the other side. Bit of a wind but not enough to affect lift operations as far as I can tell, and more importantly a layer of new snow -not deep but it's coming down and hopefully will be for the day. Due to the snow being blown about, more in some places than others, visibility is generally not so good this morning. We are expecting the snow to clear up by tomorrow and might get to see the sun. A few days of calmer, clearer weather? That's what the local forecast is telling us at the moment. Further snow due later in the week. Still bustling here, this being the last bit of new year. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here . Lovely morning here in Shiga Kogen, though that's not really what I want to be reporting. Clear blue skies hardly a cloud to be seen. The views are great. But there's not much snow to report unfortunately. It's all looking a bit bare, apart from a few of the runs that resorts are preparing to be open. A number of snow making machines can be seen doing their work to try and help nature along. It has been nice and cold overnight and early morning though so that is helping. Anyway, where are we at? Basically it's still the one lift at Kumanoyu that is moving. Takamagahara and Ichinose Family are going to do their best to open tomorrow morning. There is a chance of snowclouds giving us some of the goods overnight tonight, so fingers crossed that happens. I'll update you tomorrow morning to see how we get on.
